I always play the Endar Spire on the hardest difficulty level, so that the Sith troopers can actually do noticeable damage to you. Then I use Trask as a meatshield until he gets locked in a room with Darth Bandon.

Every time I play Kotor, I run into a glitch with Calo Nord. If you go to Kashyyyk first, he arrives when you enter the shadowlands, not after you get the star map. I think this is exclusively because of the option you get when meeting Zaalbar's dad to ally with him and kill Zaalbar's brother, that the lift guard turns on you.

A couple details about Tatooine that I wanted to bring up: It's always the best choice to play first (in usual play, at least) because of Calo Nord's drops (which are different depending on which planet you meet him on). Additionally, the sand people will only attack you if you wander towards the edges of the map in the first area of the Dune Sea, just outside of Anchorhead. A decent marker is if you put your character between the twin suns and walk to the sand crawler. That said, then you don't get the neat loot on the sides of the map or the exp from killing the sand people, so it's not really worth avoiding them anyway. Love the challenge, by the way!

Dammit, I started on Korriban with the Sith Academy. I cheesed that fight using that entrance because of how fucked up that narrow passage made fighting him and his back up was. Just ran to heal my squad up whenever someone got gunned down near the entrance. Gods bless stims. I couldn't have kicked his ass without roiding up and jamming a lightsaber down his throat.

Hey VNG, there is a exploit you can do with healing. If you open the game menu and go into your inventory screen I think it’s the third tab on the left side (the one with the chest and plus sign symbol) if you select a med pack from there and use it, it won’t count in a turn so you can continue fighting Even as you heal. Just wanted to help you out if you need it :)

@@vnggaming2836 Another fun little thing that might save you a medpac or two at the start. Up until Trask leaves you on the Endar Spire, you literally cannot die. Any attack that would kill you just misses There is actually an old guide on GameFAQs about building an optimal solo character that can beat the game on difficult without the use of glitches, stims or cheese tactics, and (in theory, if played well) without a single death. If I recall, it was a 6/14 soldier guardian focusing on double-bladed lightsabers and master flurry. One thing I took away was "Get immunity to crits and mind effects and never let either immunity go".

I actually have a similar play through that I’ve done multiple times: I play a soldier who doesn’t believe in the Force. Lol So I focus as hard as I can on being as well built as Canderous. No skill proficiencies, unfortunately… but I’m usually strong enough to wreck what comes after me after failing to skill-check. I haven’t done it solo I don’t think… But at a certain point getting the right armor, I don’t think I would be worried. Blaster rifle and double bladed sword is a force

This is the only way I play KotOR 1 at this point after beating it so many times. I find the best way is level to about 7 or 9 for Sneak Attack levels, then go Sentinel for the resists. Split STR/WIS with a single saber for dueling. Stun enemies with force powers then spam Flurry for as many dice rolls as possible with 1dX saber mods + Sneak Attack. It absolutely tears everything apart while being relatively durable.

I’ve done an entire unarmed play through solo mode (as much as the gameplay allows you to be solo). I expected it to be very difficult, but it was actually quite easy.

I'm not allowed to use damaging force powers or any other weapons except for blaster pistols, grenades and mines... Reminds me of Keira Knightly in Pirates of the Carribean; You like pain, try wearing a corset. Blaster builds are supposedly possible, but you REALLY have to know the mechanics of the weapon types, and the in game stats to pull it off. Even then, it's definitely a "challenge" to run. Tell me you at least went rogue/sentinel. They'd have the easiest time with skill point investments. Though I think there's an argument for Scout as they at least get implants for free - less wasted feats. I tend more to run Solider/Knight the first time I play, whenever I decide to play again. Also I've never actually tried rogue/consular. Last time I installed this game I did a graph that had all the feats per level vs the powers per level vs the skill points per level for all three classes. If I recall correctly I found that mixing the classes up a bit gave a better balance overall of the most "bang for the buck" ironically. Sticking to the assigned classes you first choose does make you powerful in some ways, but it also creates a large gap in other areas. For a rogue/consular you'd have massive skillpoints and force powers if you stat right - you'd be unstoppable with the force except for certain bosses, and you'd still hit for less effect on them more often than not - BUT you'd also be a lot more squishy for example. Not as good at lightsaber combat. The scout/sentinel does get some nice bonus' but it's weaker on average in combat than either of the other two. It doesn't have the same lightsaber skill as a soldier knight, with less feat gain overall, and it doesn't have the massive force powers that the consular gets. Though it IS immune to certain detriments that make it a tempting option overall. Especially if you went high strength soldier and your force ability stats are less than optimal. I personally like the romance aspect, so even if she's a Tsundere (which I dislike as a concept) I would tend to take Bastilla along. [Besides, it's canon - no matter what Kathleen says] Have to admit I've not played very far as a female option. Only male. I know I'm not the only one who wants this remastered/VERY lightly remade soon. I'd only want them to add a skip option to the speeder racing stuff/space battles. I'd also like the 2nd rank of the force persaude to actually be useful. : / (If we can't use it to persaude people because instant win; make it so the second rank as a secondary feature buffs your will stat to make you more resistent to other people trying to use the force on you. That way even a knight gets some decent bonus to resisting the painful debuffs, and the feat is less wasted) * Skills aren't that important... Demolitions, computer use, stealth, persuade, awareness, repair and security are ALL your bread and butter as a Solo run. The only one you won't really need is treat injury, and even that would be useful to some quests. Hell even just demo awareness and security would save your arse in mine fields and save your wallet by recovering mines to use against your enemies... but again I reiterate; you like pain. ; )

I might add this to my challenge criteria on a new run; naked, solo, no Force powers, no implants, no support items aside from medpacks… no companions (except when demanded by the game). I've done some research on the question you asked me yesterday, and here's what i found. 100,000,000 Tyrannosaurs could not win a fight against 1,000,000,000 lions because they did not exist at the same time. After all a fight that cannot be fought has no winner. But that's not the only reason this fight couldn't happen. Believe it or not 1,000,000,000 lions isn't just "a lot" of lions, it's actually too many. A population of lions this large is actually impossible. Lions are large preditory animals that have diets consisting entirely of meat. An average lion will eat over 5lbs or approximately 3kilos of meat in one sitting. They dont reach breeding age until their 3rd year of life and can only produce a maximum litter size of 6. That means to produce at least 4 lions you will need well over 30,000lbs or 13,500kilos of meat. A cycle that continues to quadruple until there is a generation of lions that would need over 30,000,000,000,000lbs or 16,000,000,000,000kilos of food. Which the earth obviously cannot provide. Therefore a population of lions that large would have to not only learn farming and fishing in order to sustain their numbers, but would need to evolve into omnivores as well. That is why big cats, have never reached populations this large. Even the high population of house cats is only possible due to direct human influence. However if your question was hypothetical in nature, then the answer is lions.

This is cool, I had the same idea but playing with a rifle. I like the rifle more than the pistol. And 0 force powers. Like a bounty hunter. Still working up the nerve for it :D Also stealth could be interesting. If you want an easy playthrough with force and lightsaber by yourself - you take scoundrel for sneak attack and level it up as much as you can. Anytime the enemy is incapacitated you crit on them. So you get force wave and stasis field and destroy everything. Most powerful character build imo.

Tip for anyone trying to do this. In KOTOR 1 and 2 leveling up resets your hp to full so when Mira fights hanharr (if you are lightside) then just place mines and level up when ur health gets low (or turn her into a force user) either way try to save up as many level ups till the end of the game

I actually did a similar run on hard but I tried "Not to be a Jedi" so no force, no lightsaber, no teammates (segments that force you I put them out of combat reach using the solo mode) and before the Saul boss fight on the leviathan I got all my teammates down to 1 hp and switched to one so they would do as little interference as possible. It ended up being the hardest fight in the whole game for what I was doing since it's so close quarters. I later did a similar thing before the bastille fight but it was way easier then a group of men in a box. adhesive grenades were a godsend against sith, it was really fun and I recommend anyone to try it. But the final fight with Malak required a hefty some of grenades to beat however it was more tedious then hard fighting him but it was still fun for the whole rest of the game. Also for the beginning of the leviathan mission where you have to pick who your gonna play as to break the player out I picked mission and STAYED OUT OF ALL COMBAT and just Broke the player out of his cell as fast as possible so they would do any interference as well pretty cool like I said give it try if your reading this

Tatooine is just Eart glassed to make sand for the Star Forge, The Trees on Kyshaak they were put there so they could be used for resources for the building of the Star Forge. The Sand people are just remnants of the slaves and slavers that uses to be forced to dig for shit once people in the future bought and sold everything else to the next person and that continued on well after the creation of the evil thing. And the cycle continues with Anakin and Sandy No Planet. Think about it, but why was the Star Forge but for more evil? The Force making people it's playthings.

I remember doing this after beating the game normally. I wanted to see if blasters could overpower a jedi. Short answer: suck it Obi-wan. Edit: Your build hurts me. Master Rapid Shot + Master Speed gives you 5 or 6 attacks per round? Master Speed also I believe negates the attack penalty of Master Rapid Shot. If you weren't limiting your force power usage I would also recommend Level 2 Force Push (don't remember its name) because it traps the target in a cyclone, effectively stunning them. My build was Scoundrel 7/Consular 13, and combined with concussive grenades I would rip to shreds anything that dared approach me. I too played on Difficult.

Last playthrough i completed, hardcore mode, a single blaster pistol only, no force. Party cant use grenades or mines. Currently got a mod installed so that enemies do 500% damage and currently figuring out best build for it.

Technically you can't as you are forced to use someone else on the Leviathan

I haven't seen the video yet, but what about the Leviathan, you can't play as the MC for a while and you have to kill a guard in order to progress.

Malak is hard but not THAT hard. I just did a Scoundrel > Consular LS run and wiped the floor with him 2nd attempt

On PC (at least when I played it at release) the offensive abilities were located above your target. I really didn't like that. It seems the console versions, while not having a great UI, has the more traditional action bar at the bottom, which I prefer.

Oh no... Why a blaster build? Are you okay? While Scoundrel is the worst base class, it the best choice for a blaster build because you need the Sneak Attack damage. Similarly Guardian is the best jedi class for blasters because you can get weapon specialization and better BAB progression to beat lightsaber deflection rolls. Bendek throws exactly 3 grenades when the fight starts.
