Can you build your own gasser chassis with a Jeep XJ front axle? Why not!

In a short time, I thrash to cut the rotted frame on my Checker and burn in new rails, along with mocking in the straight front axle that's actually an XJ Cherokee 2wd unit.

Looks awesome so far! I'm really digging the Checker thing. Are you going to do a two door conversion on the car?

Thanks! I thought about going 2 door with it, but I'm shooting to have it ready for the Iola Car Show in July and the size of the 4 door would be sweet to carry stuff on a Drag and Drive. Maybe in the future I'll shorten it up

Are you going to weld in side gussets where the frame tips on each angle?

Yep, I'll put fish plates on the insides of the rail and gusset the bottom from the 45° to the flat.
