Solar panels will never produce enough to even pay for the cost of installation. The output degrades over time and they will need replacing in 25 years. Don't waste your money on solar panels. Only people I know who are saving money on energy are people with log burners. Friend of mine has adapted his central heating and water heating system to a log burner with a back boiler. Works brilliantly. The whole existing boiler is removed and replaced with a simple water pump. A copper hot water cylinder and header tanks in the loft completes the system. Only thing he pays for is the cost to run the pump. About 50 quid a year.

I have solar on my roof, but it costs me nothing as I rent the roof space out too a company that sells electricity too the grid. I receive free electricity which basically cuts my bill in half at no cost too myself. When the contract's over they will come & collect their equipment, half way through the 25 year contract.

My daughter passed GCSEs whilst studying in free library. Who says it has to be penthouse only to study in.Libraries are quiet places for studies and they are free too.
