Almost six months after buying my Hijet mini truck in Japan, waiting for it to ship, then buying clutch parts from Japan and getting the new clutch installed, I've finally been driving my Hijet the last three weeks. I love it. I finally drove my 4Runner that had been parked for three weeks just to charge the battery. Kei vehicles are very practical for driving around town. I'm shocked at how practical the Hijet is. Kei trucks have weird little tie down stakes on the outside of the pickup bed sides. I was surprised to place plastic grocery bags against the inside of the bed sides and loop the handles over the stakes to secure the groceries. On my Tacoma, I'd arrive home with groceries all over the bed. Ditto with a bag of Chinese takeout secured by the stakes, or my 91 year old Mom's wheelchair that I can secure with its own seat belt. 30+ MPG is awesome for a 4WD truck with better cargo capacity than my Tacoma that got 20 MPG. My V6 4Runner gets 15 MPG. The Hijet gets way more smiles per mile. People love it. Mine is the only one in town. With all you guys pay NY in taxes, I was surprised to see how pot holed the roads are in your recent Motocompo video. Sad that a pothole tore up the dash buttons on your Bravo. Good roads save money.

Great walk around. If you're not carrying passengers, maybe take out the rear seats and bars to reduce weight. Used to have a 96 Miata, and even 50 lbs off that car made a difference!

You’re definitely right, prices are shooting up for all the fan boy cars here in Japan. When I moved to Tokyo last year June 2020, I bought 11 fan boy cars, and I’ve been cashing in slowly but surely as they cross their 25 year old birthday.. 💰 💰

Beautiful. If you added some rugged gold wheels and gave it a slight lift, she'd be perfect.

My bravo happens to be full time 4WD and even has high/low so I can imagine it would be fine. But idk how much im going to drive my van in the bad snow its already a death trap and hard winds make it even worse lol

Werd they make life so hard for car people out there.
@guerrillaradio99532 жыл бұрын
You'd think they'd be all about people getting a car that gets almost 50mpg and is keeping a car long past its carbon footprint. Environmental laws in this country are only there for politicians to "look good", they don't really give af. Look at the latest shit about gas prices--they want cities to have "car free sundays". That's really easy to say when you're rich...
@scottchamberlain55943 жыл бұрын
In short, no. You have to want it awfully badly to daily drive a Kei truck. They are very cool, and get a lot of attention. They are slow noisey, and waiting for parts is a constant issue. And they're really REALLY unsafe. Hit something and you will die. Handle? Get passed by a tractor trailor, or hit a 10 mph cross wind, and it will change lanes, suddenly and involuntarily.
@Waybeforethefame3 жыл бұрын
Its not that bad lol also depends on where you live i daily drove my kei truck for a while but the kei van is much better and easier to live with

ehhh i think headroom your good and you change the steering wheel. I would try to sit in any kei van and see cause there all the same driving seat wise
