Just earned my P3 with my Sonata 22. It has been an outstanding wing to learn with for the last several months. It’s taken me all the way form the training hill to P3 and cross country flight. Very easy to fly, very resilient, very forgiving, and enough performance. I’ve had many great flights. I fly with an Ozium pod, and enjoy the comfort, handling, and slight performance boost of the pod...makes a good combo. Overall I’m very happy with my choice to buy and stick with the low A wing as a new paraglider pilot. I’ve flown the Tenor 21 and that probably be my next wing. I am looking forward to a bit more glide and lighter controls. The Sonata will stay in my fleet.

I’m in love 😍! I think i will sell my Sigma 9 and buy this one. Awesome review,Grec.

Don't let my enthusiasm get the better of you :-). Remember I review a wing relative to what I expect in the class. If you're capable/suited to a higher class, there's a lot more you can get out of it - its always about finding the right match.

Greg Hamerton , that is nice coming from you. I still need to explore my Sigma 9, hope soon when i move to UK. I like your positive review, that was my point.

Very nice video, as always. You should have taken a sandwich with you. It appeared as you could take the time!

Have you had any chance to fly the light-version of the Sonata the Viola yet? I am thinking about switching to that wing, especially because it's extended weight-range from 75 to 110kg would be ideal for me (97-100kg)... Keep up the great work! Your videos are really motivating!

Great video as always! I'm a beginner and fly an EN-A wing (Sol Prymus Four) and frankly don't plan on switching anytime soon... I think it has a lot to offer a beginner and the added safety lets me develop my flight skills without having to worry about wing behavior. (shameless plug: I have some videos on my channel flying the Prymus :D) On another subject... The 360 angles add so much to the narrative! I need to setup my camera correctly to take advantage! What editor are you guys using for the 360 shots?

Great reviews, great video! How do you capture those close-up shots so well?
@greghamerton44226 жыл бұрын
Thanks Seb, the close-ups are just a handheld Gopro, I usually use a gimbal but don't always have it to hand. Filming it in slow motion helps soften the shake (and the Hero5 has some stabilization built in).

Hello, how does it compare to a BGD Magic ?

Greg, I've checked Phi's Sonata web page, and they say that Size 22 is 22,4 square meters. According to them, 26.4 sqm is the projected area of size XL. Which one should I take? I am trying to write the translation of your video on KZbin, and I wish to be accurate. (At 1:19).

I’m looking for a good first wing as I expand from a low hours paramotor pilot into motor-less flight. Wondering if the SYMPHONIA might be a better match.

I like your channel and videos, but I almost always find that the music is far too loud in comparison to the voice. So when I've adjusted the volume to listen to the review I often get blasted when the music comes back. Such a shame as it stops me watching in public places and I definitely don't want to wear earphones and damage my hearing
@greghamerton44226 жыл бұрын
Thanks Fergus, I'll look into it. I edit with good headphones on and aim for a consistent sound level, but it's possible that your phone produces the sound differently. I'll do some testing on my phone.

Greg Hamerton I've noticed on computer speakers before too. Thanks for looking into it
@SerbanOprescu6 жыл бұрын
I think the difference in volume between talk and music gives dynamic to the narrative. This is a good thing, as it completes the story. It also depends on what kind of speakers you are listening through. Small speakers might disturb, big, powerful, classy speakers (...:)) will fill your heart (and your living room).
