That original price is definitely ridiculous. However, maybe price shouldn't be the only consideration. By the time any laptop hits the used market, things have a way of taking care of themselves & leveling out. I do appreciate a review that comments on the value of the purchase - whether the item is worth it, based on the price. However, now that 4 years have passed, and you can pick one up for about $70, I also like to know what the general opinion is for something of its class. How passable is the KZbin playback at the laptop's maximum display resolution? I pretty much want a cheap laptop to log in to a portable Raspberry Pi project. I probably won't be viewing much videos. I also know I won't be playing games much, but the video performance gives me an idea of how well it can do its job, without getting on my nerves. Is it better than the Atom Netbooks of the 2010's? If I took it on a trip & got bored, could it tackle some games from the XP era? Just curious.

Thank you for such the in depth comment so long after the video has released! Yes, I do believe that on the used market this is a pretty good pickup. Obviously certain low-stress use cases would suit this laptop very well. I feel like (very) old games would run well enough to pass to "play" them on here. For $70 you cannot really go wrong like you said.

I got mine on Ebay for $54 and I feel like I got more than my money's worth out of it. It's way better than i expected and mine came with Windows 10 installed!

You had to pay $50 a year to use that? I just gone mine 2 days ago on Ebay for $54! Mine has Windows 10 running on it. It's actually decent for light gaming, I ran Second Life a 3D social game in the Firestorm viewer and it did good on the 2nd lowest settings, which was way better than I expected. I didn't mind the keyboard, the track pad sucks, in fact all track pads suck! I feel i got my money's worth from it. Oh and it was used at a school or college.

At my school every year we pay a $500 tech fee every year for the 3190 and I managed to get around the blocked websites. Although we do get multiple programs like Photoshop, office 365 etc

For an education based system, thus bottom of the bucket hardware in a drop resistant casing, it's not a horrible system. I've always said if I was going to be stuck with a system like this may it be dell. Because at least it's built incredibly well for a mass produced system. For education market it easily checks all the check boxes better than the lower end Inspirons, but the 5000 series is surely a decent upgrade over the 3000 just as with the business and consumer market. Hardware wise it's only really designed for things like word. So considering that, it's fairly impressive.

I 100% agree and thank you for your thoughts. I think it’s a durable laptop with a reliable battery that lacks of powerful hardware, which is expected. I was just surprised to see the price tag above the 500 dollar range with a Pentium, a 720p screen, and an all-plastic chassis.

Yeah this laptop isn’t running anything anytime soon. No fans lead to very fast thermal thermal throttling which makes running anything remotely intense horrible. Not to mention the processor is super low power and is not meant for anything more than a word document.

Probably fine, surprisingly photoshop works alright, but do not try to push it a ton. I'm not super familiar with digital art in specific but try not to push it too far lol
