My only feedback would be to test it for longer while in game. That disconnect you saw in the lobby while in the game might not have been good. Play a full game of LoL, Warzone, CoD, or whatever you choose and see how it goes.

My personal Experience from down in Dunsborough. I get just 80 - 90 ping on MW2 at all times. It seems about the same as I was getting with Telstra (which is surprising). Absolutely mind-blowing speeds with my highest recorded was 320 down! And I'm downloading things on Steam at around 25mb down which is crazy, I downloaded MW2 today in under 20 minutes. I need to add that I'm using 3 Xiaomi AX3000's with the primary mesh router connected straight to my PC. The starlink router is proper sh*t and I would highly recommend just using anything else, even if its just for ethernet. One day on CW I was getting like a 1 second spike up to 120 ping, but tbh as a competitive player If the latency counter wasn't on, I wouldn't have even noticed it. We also brought the dish camping a few weeks ago and it worked amazingly, we were pulling 260 down in a SOS only zone. Highly recommend it I have been blown away by the performance.

Starlink is good for downloading and upload large files, but when I play overwatch, there’s alot of projectile characters, and I’ll notice that around ever 10-20 seconds I’ll get packet loss and if I’m shooting a projectile, the game doesn’t register the bullets to where I’m shooting them, I notice this because I’ll shoot, I see the impact on the character models, but sometimes no damage is registered. I’ve tested with other games too and the 10-20 second packet loss is constant throughout. It’s very unplayable, and I just want someone to let me know of any solutions thanks!

As a broadband tech for 20 years..gaming over an internet connection that doesnt get to you hardwired\fibered is a "last resort" only option if you want an honest opinion. If youre serious about gaming your prioritization of internet should be this: dedicated fiber from a traditional telecom, VDSL over copper from a traditional telecom, and then internet from a traditional coax company ie spectrum, comcast, xfinity, etc etc third. Coming in fourth would be home internet from A 5 g cellular provider, 5th would be starlink and other satellite providers. Although I would put Starlink at.the front of the satellite provider list. Just too much latency. But, again, if you have no other options i guess you take what you can get.

Would be good during daytime, but whenever someone else used internet across the county and at the island I live, it went to shit. Starlink fixes this... Just got my Starlink kit over the weekend. Where I live, basically my two options are 30-80 ping internet with horrible download speed (5mbps) or Starlink (60-100) ping with 100mbps download. Its definitely nice to not have to wait hours for an update on a game, and ping is definitely playable

latency is a lot higher for u also as the POP is in Sydney and like u said on fiber in Perth ur typically 50-70ms latency and starlink adds at least 20-40 so 70-110 is quite reasonable. But for most of Australia and nz with starlink wd be 20-60ms.

@@bilal17446 Absolutely loving it, I hardly notice drop outs if I ever even have any I don't even check the app for my speeds or dropouts because I don't have any issues last I checked I was getting anywhere from 40mbps to 200mbps download and my upload is like 5mbps but I hardly notice downloads big files quickly and is 10x better than friends who live in town, I can game on one monitor watch a stream/ stream myself plus have live sports streaming on the tv all through starlink. I think it's pretty impressive (touch wood I haven't jinxed myself)

The speed in which you see downloads on Steam is generally megabytes per second, the same metric for speed that a USB uses when you copy files between the stick and your PC. Megabits relates to data transmissions.

Here in VIC, I'm on a 100/40 fttp nbn plan and the latency is around 10-14ms. Going from that to starlink at 80ms is absolute bs. Starlink would be good as a backup network or everyday Internet and not suitable for low latency gaming. (Or if you're living in the bush)

I think it's a great idea to have as many backup Internet connections as possible, for example 5G or other solutions, so even if Starlink would have issues you're secured. I can say for customers in America, Starlink works a lot better for us and can sustain online gaming. Starlink is mainly based in America and you can get up to around 200 download and 80 upload on a good day, especially if you have an antenna

I'd be curious to see what sort of a ping you get to USA servers. Back in the day we used to play LoL on the USA servers before they rolled out OCE in Sydney and would usually get 120ms+ which was playable. Genshin Impact is playable and that's similar pings as they are USA servers. Starlink may well have better routing.

I'm a rural so only option has been DSL for playing games, I HATE the bandwidth. but I don't think I can take the hit in ping to these numbers, one thing I will say about my service, even though. I have to take forever to DL a game, patch, or mod and I cant stream my games (I can watch perfectly fine). the pings are low 20s to high 70s and most often 45-55. playing from 70 UP...... ug... no thanks, I play to many FPS survival and FPS adventure games. most servers I play on if you hit 100ms it will auto boot for being to high.

bro mb/s is the same as mbps. The thing is the upper case B (bytes) or lower case b (bits). One byte is formed of 8 bits therefore one megabyte (MB or mB) is equal to 8 megabits (mb or Mb). 1MBps or 1MB/s (megabyte per second) equals 8Mbps or 8Mb/s (megabits per second)

@@MaxMustermann-vy7ur No, a latency of 100ms is definitely not playable. Officially, 20-50ms is the maximum delay to have a reasonably smooth gaming experience. Less than 20ms results in an optimal gaming experience and more than 50ms cause lag and reaction problems. With a 100ms ping you play bronze or silver in every shooter. It is completely beyond me how you can title a 100ms ping as playable. The game starts, but that's about it. You'll struggle with response lag, actor offset, async, and more, all the while being 0.0 competitive.

Starlink is great.... designed to give decent internet to those who have no other reasonable alternative.... cells are getting congested already because it's trendy and people who don't really need it are hogging bandwidth.
