*Doug, I do not recall ever hearing of the bottom tyre ever having the metal rim in it.... and I always thought that the bottom tyre (minus rim) was plonked on the ground so any roots would have room to move into the ground below. But do keep on trying... taking into account of the weather conditions and seasons are out of whack these days... climate change etc. But I shall look forward to your next try at growing new spuds 🙂nz*

Hi Doug While I have seen the tire growing system over the years, did you know that tires have cancer causing chemicals in them and it will migrate in to the soil and plants.

Sorry but potatoes are so cheap...I don't see why I would grow them. Garden space is too valuable. But I'm glad you saved me the effort.
