For my dragon link deck I started experimenting with the thunder dragon engine and possible extenders I could add to get out Appolousa and found it pretty successful. My usual end board has Hieratic Seal, Savage Dragon, Appolousa (3 to 4 counters), and a Colossus. It’s very consistent and I even have room to play hand traps.

Question, this is something that I am confused about that happened at my locals. I wanted to go in apollousa by using a link 4 and a link 2 but I was told that's an illegal move since over the link 4 of appolossa. Is that true?

Nope, you are allowed to do that, the only thing that you cant do is exceeding the amount of monsters that that the link rating says, for example you cannot use more then 4 monsters when the link rating is 4, but you can exceed the amount of "link" total. For example if the link rating you provide is 8 and you used 3 monster materials then you can do that (assuming that the requirement is fulfilled) but you cannot exceed over 4 monsters.

@Aaron AshCaster The other person is wrong. You are NOT allowed to use a link 4 + a link 2 to make a appollusa. You need the link ratings to equal the link rating of appollusa and use the appropriate amount of monsters required in the summoning condition(EX 2+ monsters except tokens) When using a link monster for a link summon you can only use either it’s max or min link rating to make the summon. For example you can use a link 3 monster as either a link 3 or a link 1 for another link summon, but NOT a link 2

Yea my bad, what ever you said is correct you can make a link 3 monster act as a link 3 or link 1 material during a link summon, but not link 2. you cant exceed the link rating. I think i just got the entire wording of the ruling wrong. This is can be found in the official yugioh youtube (learn how to link summon!) video and in the yugioh wikipedia.

Instead of making the saryuja and digging for a thunder you can make the fusion and then attempt to make saryuja afterwords? I havent playtested this build so idk how reliable that would be but i think its worth taking into consideration!

Why not run Thunder Dragon cards in Blue Eyes Guardragon except replace Blue Eyes with Thunder and hope your opponent doesn't have Nibiru (or any other handtrap)? Then make multiple rank 8s with Chaos Dragons and Gizmek. Also Borreload Savage with Flamvell Guard and Tempest is an option. That's what I'm tempted to do as a Blue Eyes/Red Eyes Guardragon player.

I been playing sub par orcust this whole time. But they still have some pretty good combos without him. It's just way way better with him obviously.

3 cards to keep in mind for dragon combo players, Galaxy spiral, Seyfert, and rank 8. Dragon ravine dump levianeer while seyfert in grave is really really good because seyfert converts into white/ black, and then can be used to fetch levianeer from grave after being dumped.. Other combo variations white dragon or Luna + batteryman solar... It's literally giving u more white dragons to some degree.. to Saryuja. That's my next build trial. If I have a special on dragon... Then I change it to apollousa first
