There is a place in Oxfordshire called the Banbury Gateway Shopping Park. This shopping complex sits on a Crown Estate, which is a collection of lands belonging to the monarch as a corporation sole, meaning it’s public land that’s neither government owned nor the Queen’s private estate. So through the Crown Estate, she technically owns a McDonald’s! And it gets better...that same shopping complex has a Starbucks!
