Hi, Kairi defense squad here: -Sora would still be a heartless. -Oathkeeper. You’re welcome. -Namine would not exist. -Xion would not exist. -1/2 childhood friends who managed to remember Sora exists when nearly everyone else forgot. -Sora would not have recognized Riku right in front of his face if not for Kairi. -Her middle-school poetry and lucky charm bought Sora and Riku a way home from the RoD. -Successfully aided in fighting off Xehanort via time/heart shenanigans. Lack of screentime and much character development? Yes! Useless? Unfair!

That poetry was my fave few lines when it was a titlescreen secret alt opening. 👏 She also does a lot on KH. 😂 despite being inside sora’s heart. Theres a chunk of the late game where is hanging around and you can talk to her with a cutscene in hallow bastion or somewhere with Leon and Crew. Unless I misremembering lol

@@familytablet6453 At the start of KH2, Kairi expresses to Selphie that she recalled there was another boy besides Riku on the islands-and how terrible she felt that she couldn’t remember them in greater detail. So much so that she wouldn’t sail out to their island playplace until she was able to remember them more clearly. While I concede this is still akin to forgetting Sora-keep in mind that Selphie didn’t even recall another boy other than Riku when brought up in conversation. Leon and the gang mention having, all at once, remembered Sora-implying, as pointed out by Sora and company, that they all forgot about them. While we didn’t get greater detail about each individual’s character’s recollective process related to Sora’s memories being pieced back together-Kairi stood out as someone early on who vowed to remember someone she deeply missed. To me, that cuts deeper than “we forgot, but then we remembered” alone.

I admit now that I should probably have worded that more clearly. edit: and as a Kairi mini-fan, I genuinely want SO MUCH MORE for her (actual Kairi game when nomura) and deeply respect her for preventing possibly one of the darkest timelines with nothing but a pen/pencil, a sheet of paper, and a bottle. The pen is mightier than the key-shaped sword, after all.

So kairi defense force so Kairi didn't fight anything until kh3. She was however pivotal in- 1. Turning sora back from heartless(though he did sacrifice himself for her so you might not count it) 2. Making Sora recognize riku in kh2. 3. Using her sora heart magic to both make a path to the organization stronghold, and make a door home for riku and sora. 4. in kh3 literally holding Sora together so he could save everyone. yeah her heart magic things aren't fighting, but they were important. I do get the frustration as a non combative character in an action game its easy to overlook, but kairi does plenty.

Well shit, she probably should have been making cakes at least instead of being the motivation for the first games plot, while she was comatose, and featured in about 3 games. She probably should have done more during Birth By Sleep tbh. I don't know why the six year old didn't kill Vanitas herself. You're welcome for Oathkeeper btw, this child who synthesized one of the best and most iconic keyblades herself.
