I wanna post this here too, in case you don’t see the last one I commented lol. Hello! I have a tip for teaching how to play high notes. I recommend that you should add that instead of blowing harder, students should make a smaller hole, which automatically brings your lips forward. It was hard for me to understand when you said we should bring our lips forward, so my teacher taught me to make a smaller hole in my lips, which makes the air faster. Thank you so much for what you do!

Yep that's correct! I always say use a smaller embouchure, which is a smaller hole that your lips create. Thanks for sharing! 😀

Hi jane i have this problem where my bottom lip is more fuller and it really affects my playing . What i have done to fix this is to either pull back slightly which helps or i put the flute higher to my lip but i dont pull back what do you think is more helpful

Hi Monica, I would suggest positioning the flute a little higher up on your bottom lip. 😀 I made a video recently about this topic. Here's the link in case you're interested. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJjHc5SmpZ2Jpqs

Jane, when I was playing my flute yesterday, why was my first trill key down even though I did not press it and would not come up. Do you why this happened and how I can get it to come up and not make my playing sound like I am pressing the trill key?
@JaneFluteSchool Жыл бұрын
Oh no! 😢 There might be a screw loose or a spring out of place somewhere. I won't be able to tell without looking at the instrument itself. Hopefully there is a flute service shop near you that can quickly fix it for you. Hopefully it is only a small issue!

#3 I recognise probably from my younger years - quite sure it was used in kids shows/cartoons? I didn't know the exact name of it but I knew it was something to do with morning dawn. I've held back on my guess to see what other people call it... and sure enough, it is simply called 'Morning'. Thanks again Jane, for your video's!

Ooh good guess! So close! 😀 Here are the answers: 1. Pavane, Faure 2. Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, Debussy 3. Morning Mood, from Peer Gynt Suite, Grieg 4. Symphony 9, New World, Dvorak

Thank you Jane for the clarification. I may need to learn 'Morning Mood' sometime soon so I can play it to the pair of local Magpies here, whom have called our part of the street 'home'. Just while I'm msging, I'll take the opportunity to apologise for the awful internet drop-out's I was getting during your Zoom class a few weeks ago. We had very poor weather here at the time but it's no excuse for poor coverage during this day & age. I was very disapointed as it made the session frustrating (no fault of yours) - luckily I was able to be online at the right moment to capture the point of the lesson you were teaching. Take care xo

Hi Jane. Faure - Pavane / Debussy - Prelude a l'apres midi d'un faune / Grieg - Morning from Peer Gynt / I'm sure I'll know number 4 but must accept defeat. Thanks for your inspiring and methodical guidance from one of your past students. xx
