We always called them lantern they were not run on gas but karosene.

Many of these items are still in use. I still have and use one of those pencil sharpeners. At first glance I thought the letter opener looked like a fillet knife for fish. Mine looks almost identical.

ROLODEX .. I've always wanted to know what one of those 'address card thing's was called. At first I thought that the pencil sharpener was a fishing line reel, and then I noticed the holes. Well done, however, for calling it a Gramophone .. most people who have one on an 'old things' quiz say that it's a Phonograph. Gramophones played discs, Phonographs played cylinders.

The radio is actually a multi-band shortwave radio to receive broadcasts from around the world (on a good night). The lantern runs on kerosene or lamp oil, not gas(oline).

They're not numbered, so by description; The one lantern is a kerosene lantern, probably a Dietz. If it had been a "gas lamp" (white gas), it would have a pump to pressurize the gas chamber. I missed the "letter opener". It looked light a Japanese dagger from the Samurai era. I love this type of quiz... It reminds me of how old I am. I think I'll go pour myself a brandy... and quietly weep... and pour another brandy... and weep......

Flour sifters are still used today - ask any baker. That not a gas lamp but a kerosene or oil lamp. You would have to live in cave or be like 5 to have not known most of these.

Gas Lamp is Oil Lamp.... Big Difference.... Gas has a pump on the side and pressurized.... When you use the Manufacture's name in the product description then other brands can not be used.... a lot of knock offs were sold!!!

I do not believe that is a Walkman cassette player. Walkman is a Sony trademark for a portable cassette player. Folks that write these programs should stay away from using trademark names. It is like saying the radio is a Grundig. One of the best shortwave radios of its time. That is the first name that came to my mind when I saw it, but it could have been a knock off of it.
