The saddest part is, kids middle lower class or below can't get into card collecting nowadays. The card companies have priced them out of the hobby!

I know where you're coming from with this, but I don't entirely agree. Depends on a lot of factors, but collecting from value bins can still be a great way to participate. You can also still find loose packs and things to help collections get going - at card shops, Dollar Tree, etc. But I do wish it were more affordable.

This video is great. You are such a kind hearted and entertaining guy. You have proven the point. If you looking it gets your moneys worth never rip open packs. It’s the same scam as a lottery. Both pay out terribly and sell you with often false hope. The house always wins in the end. There is simply to much product to little demand for cards except the premier rarities and autographs. It is a suckers game. Buy secondary market cards in auctions instead.

If you are trying to make a business out of Sports Trading Cards, or Gaming Trading Cards. You are better off just investing into singles. Buy low and sell high of course. You can try buying singles at 20% - 30% below market value, and then resell the cards for profit ( At Market Value ). Now you can gamble by opening sealed boxes, but that is like playing the lotto... yes you can it big, but you can also lose everything. I remember buying a pack of Topps cards for $50 with one autograph per pack, the auto I got was wroth $5. I was soooo mad! Of course it's always up to you! Have fun and enjoy the Hobby!

I bought a box of 1992 Marvel Masterpieces 3 or so years ago. I was super worried about the bricking because it's prevalent. I did the cold temp experiment, but in my garage for two days. When I opened them they absolutely were still bricked, but probably 70% of them released without paper loss. I sent a dozen of them off for grading and got several PSA 10s (Hulk, Thanos, etc.). Numerous 9s too, but I think that's PSA being nutty with forensics on a card vs paper damage I caused. Just sold a lot of 6 of them on eBay to the UK like 2 weeks ago as a matter of fact.

The boxes are out of control in pricing due to breakers. It puts the box to a price that is dumb for an individual, while providing a logical profiteering system through breaks that keeps them coming off the shelves. If it wasn't for breaking, the market for selling boxes at these prices WOULD TANK, and prices would fall.

Never buy 'widow' boxes. These are the 'stems and seeds' of opened cases. Too many cases are opened then once the case hit is unearthed, the rest of the boxes are sold off separately. If you are going to rip hobby boxes, price out the cost per auto. Autos are where the serious value lies. Topps Chrome Tennis comes 3 autos to a $100 hobby box, so that's very good value at $33/auto. An Alcaraz auto selling for over $1K.

Breaking is horrible and probably the worst thing to happen to the hobby. It allows the companies to keep the prices ridiculously high because it takes 10 people to buy into breaks to make it affordable which drops your chances even further or actually getting something worth something. It's also taken the kids out of the hobby. My son loved it when he was younger and things were cheaper. Now he is 19 and lost interest because he can't buy anything.
