Thank you for this video! I have been working as a Legal Secretary for a Civil Litigation attorney for about 5 years now, and have recently looked into schools to receive a Paralegal Certificate. The school I am looking into is a fast paced program (I'll be done in a year), but it is not ABA approved (there are over 150 schools that you can receive the certificate from in that program, including actual State Colleges). I'm weary due to not being sure if an "ABA" approved school is better on a resume or if the one I am looking at will suffice. Do you have any advice on this? Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video!

You're welcome! I think it depends on what your future plans are. If you are going to be in a big metropolitan city wanting to work for a large firm, I'd go with the ABA-Approved program just to be safe so that you're not limiting your employment opportunities. If that's not your goal, there are plenty of good non-ABA approved programs out there that will get you what you need. I think with your prior work experience in a law firm, where you get your certificate from is less important than the hands-on experience.

Been in real estate 20 years and would like to offer doc prep, recording, title/deed research, services in my area. There seems to be a void for these services. Whats the best avenue to take to acquire and offer the services to clients ?

That's not my specialty - offering services to clients. I provide paralegal training to new litigation paralegals.

I have 5 years experience in legal support services (I work for a third party company that are hired by the attorneys to obtain the records for their cases. Medical, billing and radiology, insurance records) do you think I would be able to get a legal assistant job possibly in the personal injury side? My goal is to be a paralegal but if I need to go first for a legal assistant job to get my foot in the door I will.

Yes, take the legal assistant job. In most PI firms, that just means you're doing the "pre-litigation phase" of the claim file.
