Hi Martyn, great up-date mate. Love the solar running the pond. Just to let you know mate, I've been trying to answer your comment on my video, but when I click on it, it disappears! so I can't reply mate. I have checked the Held For Review, but it's not in there. I thought KZbin had sorted this out, as we had it before. Sorry mate, Terry.

Great update Martyn. Love the solar aspect of the pond. We are struggling with the dreaded weed ourselves, horrible stuff. Stay safe mate.

I like the idea of a solar pond but you can get a full house setup with 12 panels running 5kw on the roof and, 5kwh worth of battery's now for about 7.5k installed with a reputable company near me, yes i know its a lot more but you could even go panels only for say 5or 6k, it just seems a big investment to just run the pond 2k, when you could run the house on a 5kw install for not a lot more at 5k, plus you also get paid back SEG at 15pkwh for what you dont use on those systems so the pay back time would be much quicker to , I'm not been critical on your system but its just some pricing for context if other people want to go down the solar route i think the bigger outlay for a full house sytem at the start is more sensaable
@boxtriker Жыл бұрын
I know what you say with the full house setup I could run everything. This is a play around setup for the pond and my workshop and all Diy I will be going to a full house setup in time but there is the chance of a house move so I wanted something that would do the job and I could take apart and move with me and reinstall if that happened. A house setup for me hear would be about 14k for 6kw of panels and a 10kw battery. and I want it but it will have hold off for a time yet and see what happens in a year or two. Have a good weekend and thanks for watching

You'd be lucky to get £0.15 per kwh for SEG. It's more like £0.05. I've got a 6kwh system with 5.2kwh battery back up. The aim is to use the power rather than let it go back to the grid. We probably save about £1500 a year, so it was worth it long term. My pond filter is also solar powered; however, that was more of a vanity project. I worked out that it would only cost me around £25 a year to run the pump from mains, the equipment I purchased cost almost 10 times that and I doubt it will last 10 years.

@@andreashessler838 you probly need to shop around then because octopus and edf are both offering 15pkwh export last time I looked. It has risen alot over the last year due to the energy crisis and the push for green energy. There is also octopus flux or something with acts like a grid based battery and u can get some very nice seg payments from that but it's not stable it moves with the market. But people have been getting very good seg payback front that. If your on 0.05p for Seg your having your pants pulled down by the energy company your with so I'd suggest shopping around asap

@@boxtriker oh yeh I totally get it's a DIY play around project I have nothing against it all seems like a nice little system. Just it can get expensive quickly DIY installs like these and by the time you spent thatoney you could be half way to a full system. It just a word warning to others rather than calling out your system
