I had the same issue when the half-life update came out. Connect any random controller, the joystick should work properly on the controller. Then go to the QAM and reorder the steam deck to the top. Disconnect controller. I recreated the issue on my steam deck so I think It should work. Hope this helps!

I was almost completely through playing half life 2 for the first time using the update version and my save file corrupted ☹️☹️☹️ I hope valve gives half life 2 the anniversary treatment

for the steamgriddb part, theres actually a deck mod that lets you choose images in the DeckUI.

Maybe try copying the controller commands to autoexec and copying the controller.cfg and autoexec to all of your mods' folders?

I can't even get custom models/sounds to work on steam deck by putting the files in the correct folders/overwriting the original files even with Proton Experimental etc

the controller mapping being reset whenever you click a Steam Menu button is the exact same thing that has been happening to me in Black Mesa on the Deck. very frustrating. i always thought it was a black mesa issue, but now it seems like its a Source controller mapping + Steak deck issue? Been happening for months now, I hope its fixed soon.

When my configs resets, it's usually due to saving it as a personal config, community config, ot template (which can typically be fixed with a os or steam restart). Sometimes a game that supports the Steam Input API doesn't like keyboard and mouse inouts and reset it (examples are basically any source 1 Valve game) which was very annoying to me because before the family sharing update came out gyro to mouse wasn't a part of the SIAPI. There was also the case where Black Mesa accidentally made it so that any changes resulted in a reset but they've patched since then. I don't know what was going on with you and the configs for the HL1 mods. That just seem strange. Also how was Entropy Zero 2's Steam Input config? The last time I played some of the in-game actions didn't function at all, like the weapon bucket system.

I’ve had issues getting multiplayer sourcemods to work on Linux, for the life of me I can’t get Open Fortress to recognize my TF2 Install and TF2 Classic just crashes instantly, single player mods seem to work just fine though

Please help me, I've installed Research and Development on the Steam Deck, however whenever I open it, it crashes after the source intro. I have every Half-Life 2 game installed, I did the experimental proton thing too for 2013 source SDK installer. What do I do?

Have you applied the Source SDK 2013 patch to Research and Development? You can download it alongside the mod itself on ModDB. Just put the files in the main directory of Research and Development and that should do it!

But all this stuff run fine in notebook from 2018 or 2019... and is a big screen... and it cost a lot less than this thing... and is a damn computer!!.... i never going to get this kids ...
