Don't camp in stream beds, ever. I saved a friend and my life too during a flash flood that he couldn't hear coming. I have bad ears but his are worse. We weren't camping there. We were just there. There was no storm around us. No signs of bad weather were visible off in the distance either. We barely made it out with seconds to spare. Listen, seriously.

A flash flood occurs during a thaw cycle upstream, reasonably unlikely at this time of year, still good advice all year round not to camp in a stream.

I really appreciated the long distance shots, the from above shots and the general long walking sometimes over more difficult ground camera shots. The effort is noticeable where many other camping in harsher weather video creators are very short distanced or short walking stretches. So thanks for the effort.

A rock built wall around fire with open in front would channel a tremendous amount of that heat right to you. A cover on half the top to let smoke out. Looks like aplenty og rock there to accomplish. I'm gonna try that next time I go

Rocks from a stream bed want to explode when heated. I could have lost both eyes one night and it wasn't a rock from a stream bed. It dusted both open eyes but they still work and I wasn't blinded.
