Just to note on 10:26 - It doesn't matter if you use Life Grip before or after the pulse bomb sticks, it can still explode other targets while it's active. Life grip only prevents damage for the target, and doesn't act like a Zarya bubble like many people think.The life grip also ended before the pulse went off, so the Brigitte also died

it not auto breaking could be used to your advantage. Theres been times where im in a hallway or place with a door nearby and theres someone whos chasing me and i can set it down in the doorway, walk over it to trigger it and than it'll be stuck floating halfway in the doorway blocking the person from chasing me. Pretty helpful to use as a bit of an obstacle if in tight corridors sometimes 👍

From my experience as a dps, I get killed by grip waaay more often than saved by it. It's incredibly common for lifeweaver who screwed up _their_ position and ended up with a tank in their face to pull you in a "cOmE hElP yOUr SuPpOrT" way. So we both die. It's not even low ELO. Bottom Masters rank. I hate the fact that there isn't a prompt on the screen that would let you cancel being gripped In the meantime, they should rename it into Deathgrip

Even if they tunnel vision he has big heal output at range and can protect himself from dive, particularly in lower ranks where people have trouble hitting a genji. Plus he's not a scoped in ana or a zen or bap hard focusing damage. Its harder to not see the crit health markers pop up when he's probably incredibly low maintenance in the metal ranks. I mean even if you only use petal for yourself, spam heal your tank, and pull your tank out of getting ulted down, you'll probably have more impact than an ana that can't hit an anti nade or a sleep and never prioritizes damage. People are just still learning him, even still unlocking him i'd imagine.

I'm calling it now, once Lifeweaver gets some adjustments, he's going to cause some big changes to team comps. The fact that he can pull friendlies out of a fight makes it possible to play far more aggressive on heros that normally wouldn't be able to due to their lack of mobility. I think Rein is going to be a good combo with him. Rein can win up close against just about anyone but he doesn't have any escape if he ends up in too deep. Lifeweaver fills that niche. Melee loving Brigs as well. I also think Mei will be a good choice with the changes coming to her spray fire mode incentivizing close range play.

Lifeweaver isn't bad. He's not perfect but he's usable if you have good game sense and if you don't panic grip people. So many times I've had lifeweavers when I'm on DPS panic grip me as echo when I go in for the beam kill on a nearly dead squishy or about to drop my ult and they think I'm in some mortal danger at full health and no chip damage whatsoever.

Same thing with when Doomfist was mildly underpowered. People will ask you to swap off any slightly off-meta pick, yet somehow think they're Genji gods instead of just swapping to Pharah. Wifeleaver's biggest problem is that people just don't know how to play around him yet. This is the most impactful a character has been on the variety of plays one can make since Ana. It's going to take probably a couple months before people understand how to play around him. It also doesn't help that the majority of the playerbase is fucking braindead. I had a Dva complain that I life gripped them out of a 1v4 situation

I have been 4400 - top500 for 30 seasons now and I climbed from bronze to diamond on hammer and turret only. If you are better player + with MASSIVE rank inflation going on you can climb with your limbs fucking chopped off. It doesn’t prove anything, life weaver is a full on a throw-pick even more so than genji is(and believe me in an overbuffed, power crept role you don't want a character worse than Genji).

one thing folks dont talk about as much with LW is the hand fatigue with hold to charge. I dont like the alternative option either though It feels clunky. not sure how to fix though, maybe make it automatically charge blossom at all times? I dunno.

Then you’d be perma slowed, but I agree it’s a lot of work holding and releasing the button methodically after a only a few games.

@@The0nlyy not really, folks shouldn't really be holding it anyways right? and if no one needs heals, they should be firing thorns so button press to charge is a little pointless. the slow would still kick in 1 second after the charge if you hold it but thats the same as it is now.

After seeing this gameplay, there is no way Momfricker is that rank... just goes to show you how broken the ranking system is in OW
