How many weeks should the puppies be before they eat regular food? How long do you have to keep them on a heating pad or under the light?

We really have no idea yet. She has test ran at 8 weeks old to look for any congenital abnormalities. I guess depending on the results we will start to think about where her home will be.

It’s hard to say. But usually the will gain at least 1-2 ounces a day. Maybe not that much the first week or so. But later on the will start to gain 3-4 ounces a day. It really depends on what week your talking about and what breed. The main thing is you want them to gain every single day

Ok and we are feeding them every 2 hours but we have notice that they may not latch on for 1 feeding some days. Is there something we should do different? We are also bottle feeding the runt because she latched on for the first 2 days and them stopped. Should we continue to give her karo syrup even though she is bottle feeding?

She only needs the Karo if she is not eating at all and is lethargic. Technically they should latch on every time but here’s something’s to think about.. 1) if they are older than 2 weeks old sometimes they don’t need to eat every 2 hours they can go 3 hours so they could be full and not hungry 2) how is mommas breast look? Are they lumpy and hard? Red? Huge? You want the breast to be full of milk but very squishy and easy to squeeze. Make sure the milk is flowing good. Squeeze one and see if white milk is coming out. Check all breast! 3) are they growing 4) are they crying when they don’t latch on like they are hungry but not getting anything? Or are they just going to sleep like they are full and satisfied?

Ok. They will be a week old tomorrow. They are growing. I weigh them daily. I check her breast before each feeding, they are not hard and they are not crying as if they were hungry. They are sleeping. Defecating and urinating regularly. Thank you

Congratulations!!! I’m assuming these are English Bulldogs? The runt no matter what the size is always a concern. It’s important for you to really keep an eye on them. Weight them everyday. And also make sure they are eating enough and acting strong. We have learned that the runts need special attention most of the time but it’s not impossible for them to catch up with their litter mates.

Yes you can. You can also pour the goats milk on Divas food. It will help her produce more milk.

Gruel. We have a video on how to make it. By 4 weeks old u soak kibble in water for an hour and mash it up real good add in pumpkin and a little karo.

Bottled water is fine. At 4 weeks they should eat every 4 hours
