As a pilot who has used Runcam Thumb pro, Caddx Vista kits, DJI 03 Air Unit, and now finally purchased my first GoPro 11 mini, I can say whole-heartedly that the GoPro blows all of them out of the water. No contest.

1:00 actually I prefer image B, darker one. It looks like it got more informations in lights, colours are more pleasant and I find it as correct exposure. Lighter image is just overexposed

Cool. I already forgot which I thought was best for each segment, but from a few samples I think I consistently picked Gopro as better. But it was close, on many of them there was barely any difference. Gopro has better color by default (but I'm sure you can correct O3 to be almost as good). Biggest difference for me is details in the sky, especially cloudy day O3 just shows a flat white sky, whereas Gopro you can see the shape of the clouds. I think I'll happily run just O3, even if Gopro is slightly better.

Stabilization gives it away. If you used gyroflow it would be harder to tell. The GoPro stabilization will always make turns and movements slower

There is for sure a difference. But the O3 is very close. Especially if you record with the cinelike mode. Do the color grading yourself. Regardless. The fact that dji can provide the image they can provide along with the transmission distance of the video….. i predict one day in the near future that the gap between them will be small enough that people wont notice. As for me. I will save $400 and the weight of a gopro and just use the O3!! Nice video my guy really appreciate you taking the time to put this all together!

Thank you. 🙏 Yes it’s close enough that you probably don’t need one. I won’t be putting one on my 6” for Long Range, not going to add $500 risk if that goes down, when I can just use the weight saving for more battery.

Great vid. Both are definitely good enough. So which was A and which B? Same both time? A (GoPro?) in the garage was a bit better but not worth it to spend the extra cash or have the weight. I think on my Rekon 5 the battery pushes agains the GP6 and sometimes makes it irretrievably jittery so having the O3 in there would be great. Maybe add a nicely stabilized comparison?

Sony ZV-10 with a Sigma 16mm f1.4 Regarding, HDZero vs DJI, that’s like choosing between a Ferrari and a Bentley. HDZero is the Ferrari and DJI is a Bentley - so hopefully that gives you better context to make a decision that’s right for you.

how do you record with the o3 air unit? i insert sd card to both DJI O3 air unit and DJI goggles 2, but the O3 air unit did not record anything.

You need to turn on recording from the settings in the goggles.

the thing is... i like to fly in 4/3, and with 120/100 HZ in the goggles for the lowest latency and wihtout any motion blur. On the other side i like my Footage in 30fps 16/9 with motion blur. That are 2 completely different worlds. With 2 seperate cameras i can get exactly that. If you only have 1 Camera on the quad, then it's always a compromis.

There is a compromise either way, as the second camera is adding 150g weight which reduces flight time. With O3, you can record 2.7k at 120fps in 4:3, this allows you to then crop in to 16:9. You can add motion blur in your editor to a 120fps clip on a 30fps timelines, the added benefit is you get more control over the playback speed, such as being able to speed up / slow down as necessary to get the right shot. All that being said, you have to find out what works for you and go with that.

I appreciate this video - I own both - and honestly, the 03 is close enough that unless i need something professional looking, I dont' bother with the heavy gopro - BUT why is there so much artifacting in your video here? Your footage looks a LOT worse than mine does with either camera here and I don't know why? Did you record in 1080p then include it in a 4k video?

It’s just multiples of compression Final Cut Pro compressing the video, KZbin compressing the video All ads up.

Nice comparison Darren. Are the 03 clips from the goggles dvr? Or are they from onboard recording? I have heard that 03 shows darker image in the goggles if used with v2, but a more brighter image if used with goggle 02.

Onboard recording. No goggle dvr shown. It would make sense that Goggles 2 show a brighter image than with V2’s purely on the basis that the screens in G2 are OLED and have a higher peak brightness than the LCD screens in V2’s. A 4K image downsampled and rendered on 810p LCD screens of the V2s is still absolutely amazing.

Wish O3 was a replacement for GoPro but hero 11 is so far ahead of any other action camera. Labs firmware let’s you turn off noise reduction and widen the colour gamut, it’s incredible.

let's hope DJI will think of people who want to use the action cameras on drone and make a lighter version for DJI Osmo Action 3 - maybe version 4/ Since the DJI action cam is miles ahead of the overheating, freezing, low battery etc etc no more best pick GoPro. Great to see Action cameras having competition, GoPro let their game slide and lost the battle, I do not think it has a change to get back any longer

well . my eyes are not as good as i thought . i cooked my xt 60 connector that came with my kit . soldering went from good to bad pretty quick. practice on smd board went way better. now buying those gorlex glasses with the 5 spare lens's . hope they aren't a was of money.

@@DarrenAllatt got the baby ape for practice . darwin 129 for cin . and continue building the readytosky 5 inch. i was looking at a cheap gopro alternative akaso v50x for the 7 inch .but i don't know now . the footage is really cheap looking . i might be better off with a gopro3 or something to put on the 7 inch in case i lose it. maybe air tag or gps would help also. sure am glad i pulled the trigger on the TS16X . iwas going to buy the jumper t lite . that was a tough decision .
