Pretty sure we got one of our secondary channels suspended by following this advice. I'ts kind of fuzzy in the TOS but I wouldn't recommend it. We even re-edited the videos so they weren't identical, and the content was fully relevant to the second channel, so again, do this at your own risk.

obviously you can re-upload a video on different channels, you will not receive any strikes for duplicate videos. There might just be penalties in search and browse if one copy of the video is getting great resource from youtube, creating a pole on that content. There are also ways to republish a video on different channels, so youtube counts the overall traffic altogether

For me its a real dilemma because my main channel has 22k subs but very rarely stays monetized for long due to the nature of my old videos. It would be great if one could upload the same video to multiple channels and have the views on each channel count on the other channels as well. Hi David. There seems to be some question whether you actually get duplicate content strikes if you upload an identical video, so for the sake of argument let's say I put a different title and end slate and uploaded the (effectively) same though technically different video to a different channel. I was pretty sure you *CAN* do this. I own everything on the video, and I admin both channels, one is my band and the other is my own music channel, if I am in the music, the video could rightfully appear on either or both. So the question is not whether you *CAN* or not, but whether you *SHOULD* or not. What are the advantages / disadvantages? For example, I can just make a playlist on my own channel that features all the band videos. The band gets all the views and minutes in that case. But if I upload slightly altered dupes on my own channel I get all the views/minutes. Am I taking views away from the band if I do that, or am I multiplying the clout and getting more views for both channels. They also say KZbin favors collaboration. So please enlighten me and everyone else with this question. What is the BEST PRACTICE?

KZbin has created a way for us to attach the fingerprint videos THEY make when we release music to our personal channel since I wrote this comment, but it’s far from seamless. I still get copyright warnings not duplicate content strikes when I use my own music in my own videos but I’m assured that it all actually monetizes back to me through the back channels, and yes I do seem to see a few shekels come in through my distributor that are tagged as from KZbin.

2:05 It looks like there's some misconception about how copyright infringement is handled by KZbin. 1 - Duplicate content strike, as you call it, is not a thing. That simply doesn't exist on KZbin. 2 - 2:30 If you didn't have any copyrighted material in the original video you'll NEVER get a copyright strike on the second one. That doesn't even make sense.The exception would be if you are qualified for submitting your own videos to Content Id, which I strongly doubt is the case for anyone here. Even in this very unlikely case, you could easily get the strike removed by authorizing yourself (!) to upload your video. Of course if you're nuts and make a Copyright Infringement Complaint against yourself, you'd then get a strike. That being said, KZbin doesn't always detect a duplicate video. Therefore, you can, in many cases, upload the exact same video to a different channel. (Although I don't really know the detection rate). When it does, as you said, you can simply make minor changes in it and upload the same video, even just rendering it again with a different compression rate will do the trick. (these are instructions given by KZbin when you want to upload the same video again). Just wanted to clarify that. Other than this, it's helpful video. A lot of users have this question. Cheers!

I have seen people do a livestream that went to 2 different channels. So how did they do that? They do it week after week. Never appears to be a problem. Sometimes a KZbinr may be a guest on someone else's channel and that livestream goes to both channels. So how are they able to do this if what you say is correct?

This is a problem. I made a brand channel that has some of the same videos from my main channel. I did this after checking Google if it was ok to have the same video on two channels. I read in multiple locations that it was ok, including a quote from an email from a KZbin support person. However that brand channel got banned today out of the blue with a status of " This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of KZbin's policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations. " So I am wondering if it is because of the duplicate videos. I find it maddening that I see what seems to be authoritative answers with conflicting information, which is it??!!

I really need some help. I would like to know: is it better to have different playlists about videos on one youtube channel? Or is it better to have different youtube channels dedicated to those videos that's on specific playlists? Meaning: instead of having ONE youtube channel with various videos with different topics, one can have different youtube channels with videos dedicated to their respective topics..? I ask this because I hear a lot of KZbinrs say that it is better to create content that's specific to each niche than to have different videos on one channel about different topics/subjects. Because apparently this affects how the algorithm treats your channel and that it's better to be more precise/specific in terms of niche. And since I have a lot of videos about different things, even though it's all mainly about music, I wonder if I should make more playlists or just start new channels for each of the subjects that I make videos about, because the views fluctuates.
