I think there is a difference between “Canva Content” (which is Elements, fonts etc) and “Canva Designs” (which is how these elements have been arranged in a design). We own the copyright of the way we arrange Content to make our own Design. I did a lot of reading on Canva’s website.

If that’s your interpretation then fair play mate

@ it’s probably best to ask Canva about it, no point making our own interpretations which could be wrong.

Respectfully my man you are wrong. While you do not own copyright to the standalone elements provided by Canva (such as graphics, fonts, or templates), these elements are licensed to you under terms similar to a Creative Commons license. This means you are granted the right to use them freely, including for commercial purposes, as long as you adhere to their licensing terms. Canva’s policy states that you cannot trademark designs containing their elements because they retain ownership of the individual components, not the overall design. However, you do own the copyright to your original, unique design (even if it incorporates licensed elements), as this is your legal right under copyright law. When Canva says, “you do not own copyright,” they are referring specifically to their standalone elements, not your design as a whole. When you read every policy and get context their terms are clear: individual elements cannot be trademarked or copyrighted on their own, but you are fully within your rights to use them in broader designs commercially. This policy has been in place for many years and is standard across the industry. Also, KDP does not require full ownership only proof of rights so simply stating the Canva policy is sufficient, you will not lose your account by using Canva.

I saw some videos that said if we edit the images from canva, instead of using 1 whole thing on its own, we can sell that?

In most places but not kdp because you don’t own the copyright.

Thank you Ben for you insight. I wondered if you could tell me, with people you have been helping, are they getting information from content review as to why they are being blocked? I have some blocked under ' Based on our review, we won’t be accepting your submission for publication > because the book(s) might result in a disappointing customer experience.' and I am unable so far to get further information. Wondering if this could be the cause...

@@benmcqueeney You know, it its strange. I started to think how Amazon could know I'm using Canva's graphics, and the answer was "metadata". And even uploading images from Creative Fabrica, the Metadata SCREAMS I used Canva, like this: > Now I'm more confused than before... Canva tells Amazon this, even I use a CF Graphic...
