Did you get this info from a Canva employee/legal team? It's being said on Facebook right now about how using Pro elements for print on demand is illegal. At all. Not even with alterations. What's your take on this and have you had any confirmation from Canva? Apparently Canva support doesn't count :/....

I am trying to figure it out, too. So many people have been duped, if this is not the case. I mean, they give affiliate links to all of the Print on Demand KZbin channels, which is the reason that many of us signed up. It is horrible that they did that, if we can't use them.

I do have a question about the fonts used! I'm a graphic designer so I've usually always had to advise clients to buy the commercial license for the fonts. Do you know if this applies for Canva fonts? I think they purchase the worldwide license(which means any user can use them) but I'm not sure. I've read on there website and they vaguely give the OK for print on demand.

I’m so happy to have found your video. I had learned you couldn’t use it to sell if it’s a pro element and I was so upset because I had made a design using a pro element and a pro font (it was my favorite design yet!) to sell on my tshirt. But just to triple check lol I am allowed to sell my tshirt with the design as long as it’s not just one element? What about if it’s just Canva pro font because I have that as a tshirt design? Yes! As long as the design has multiple elements, your good. As for the fonts, what counts as a design is the image formed by the font. So that'll be okay even with just a canva pro font, since the design concept/phrase is your idea.

I'm honestly still confused. I keep reading contradictory opinions on this matter. Canva made a video about licensing and they answered this to someone in the comments: "You can only sell your design with Pro content as an editable template link and not as a file (PNG, JPEG, PDF, etc.). If you'd like to sell it as a file, you can only use free elements and templates from our platform. But make sure to alter it heavily also to make it unique." This would mean that you couldn't use any pro elements for POD right?

I've never tried POD through KDP or Barnes and noble but as per Canva's rules, as long as you use multiple elements in a design (combined elements and not just a compilation) its okay to use the them for commercial use.

Yup! As long as it's not a standalone element and there's no watermark, you can use it for POD. Although I recommend using the pro version since canva free has limited elements.

For example, if we thickened the lines in a line drawing... or if we erased to original background or added a background to a transparent background.... ? I would say that isnt changing it enough. I would use ChatGPT to help some up with funny new sayings you can type in "write me 10 tshirt text ideas for a funny cat shirt" for example

I have the Pro Version and it says that I dont have to pay for the license while with the free version I would have to pay one dollar. So how exactly can I get the license? If I want to sell it, do I have to show/mention the license? Im pretty confused about this because it says that the license would be issued to me as I export the designs, but I dont really see anything except for my design that I downloaded. Where do I find the license? Would be really great if you could help me with that!

Hey Tra! There is no physical or downloadable license. If you have the pro then you are allowed to use it following the guidelines from this video. And then if you are every asked about it then you can just show proof of your canva pro license and the licensing rules from Canva
