About me: I initially had a clothing company that tanked. However, that experience taught how incredibly expensive it is to outsource your content creation. Nice one man! I've tried using expired chemicals for my black and white film and I think adding some time would have helped me out. I got really inconsistent development across the frames when I tried this.

yeah extra dev might help but then again it's still a toss-up. It might just be that your chemicals are just dead haha

I use rodinal just because it's what I'm used to and I like the grain that it gives but I am getting a bottle of pyro 510

were there crystal formed in the bottle when you used it? I have one that is over a year expired and it does have some crystals at the bottom.
