Can you Use India Ink on the Gelli Plate?

You need hand sanitizer. Squirt hand sanitizer on the plate first. Then add the ink. It works!

ive always wondered about those inks on the gelli plate... good to know they dont exactly work without some sort of medium. And when I was a kid we used to have those bugs called rolly polleys that would roll into a little ball when you touched them! remember them?

You can also mix the ink with a small amount of zinc white or titanium white gouache paint. They will change the color obviously. ...But I wonder if it will work with clear watercolor ground (gesso) or just clear (acrylic) gesso...

I liked the first page of India ink print! A first coat of gesso might work. It works with dye based inks.

Roly poly. Lol! You are too funny! Yeah, mixing the ink with a gel medium just makes it into a paint. I think the glossy would work, too. Love watching you play! Thanks for sharing!

I have heard that if you wish to use watercolour on gel plate you should add small drop of cheap dish detergent ... I am wondering if adding a drop of dish detergent to inks would work ... one day I will try .... thanks for the video

My Girls especially Kara Loved that Little Robot Cartoon...LOL...You are so Brave Kelly, putting Indian Ink on your Gelli Plate; I would Freak Out. I have some Speedball ink I use with my pen, but not any of the Basic colors. Ink Scares me cause I am afraid I will stain everything I own up...LOL...Seriously I probably would. I do like the results you got with the Mod Podge, though, and I still think I'll be buying a Gelli Plate this weekend 'cause I expect poster paint to behave a little better. Rolly Polly is the word, and mine is much too hard........ I have never used India Ink, it looks like it would be fun on Yupo though, even if it does not particularly work on a gelli plate. I love to watch your videos I'm always learning something new. Thanks so much.
