It took them 16 hours, 20 minutes and 27 seconds, meaning they beat the 2011 record by 9 minutes. Although in 2015 Steve beat that record in 15 hours, 45 minutes and 38 seconds. With the Glasgow system, what you do is the Subway Crawl. In other words you get off at every station and have a drink in the nearest pub. Which is a bit of a challenge at West Street and Shields Road given the lack of pubs in those areas. The other challenge is getting off at Buchanan Street and then racing by bike to the next stop (St Enoch) and getting on the same train you left at Buchanan Street. It has been done at least once !

Geoff so young. All that rain running has got me out of breath. Interesting Geoff is a computer technician. Good to see he has gone on to bigger and better things.

8-minute run from Northwick Park to Kenton?... But isn't the _walk_ literally like 5 or 6 minutes? 😂
@JeSuisRene
@JeSuisRene Жыл бұрын
Apple Maps stipulates an 8m walk but I’ve done it twice before and it’s closer to 6-7m for me (somebody who isn’t used to the wider area). Unless what was being stipulated is that they were expecting a train from Kenton in 8m by which time they would have needed to complete the run from NP?

Why finish in Morden! Thats inefficient surely with Wimbledon nearby. I think the met is the obvious place to start and wouldve thought perhaps ending at Epping would make the most sense to limit backtracking. (With services like the Heathrow express and fast C2C services helping you get back from the other extremities of london pretty quickly)

@agent_605
@agent_605 4 жыл бұрын
This was back when the Overground didn't exist. The East London Line ran from the old Shoreditch (now filled in) down to New Cross and New Cross Gate. Shoreditch closed in 2006 due to low passenger numbers, followed in 2007 by the rest of the East London Line, which was converted to London Overground
