Gordon Lightfoot has been my favorite since I used to listen to my him since the early 60s. His music inspired me to run away from home at age 16 as his Road Songs made me dream of a Romantic life on The Road. Fortunately my Dad got the Tucson Task Force to retrieve me. 😊. I used to go by myself to see his concerts at Universal Amphitheater when it was an outdoor theater and later indoor.

Some rather pointed questions; Gordon is sharp as a tack! Gordon's music has been the soundtrack of my life, especially in my thirties. I'm 75 now....

I could say the same. That song "If You Could Read My Mind, certainly mirrors how things went for me. I am 81 and admire how he can have the energy to get up on a stage and sing and put on a show at his age and do it so well. I love Gordon Lightfoot because he deserves to be loved. 💖

Good old CFOR! That was the radio station I heard his music 🎶 on in the '70's...I had forgotten the name of the station, until Mr Lightfoot said it without hesitation...his memory was better than mine (I was born in the '60s)...I can't always remember crap from last week...But I can remember song's on the radio 📻 especially in the '70's...Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray 🎶 the Guess Who....I always admired this guy and wished I could have met him...my heart goes out to his wife, and his family...😢 🙏

I’m gutted by his death. From the first time that I heard him sing “If You Could Read My Mind” on the radio at age 13 until the present Gord’s music has been extremely important in my musical life. I can’t imagine life without him and his glorious compositions.

I first saw Gordon in a Four Together Concert in Detroit. Gordon, John Denver, Harry Chapin, and James Taylor. Just a fabulous concert and of the best artists. I saw Gordon probably in the early 80's at Gamage Auditorium in Tempe AZ. So very glad I was able to see him. Love all the music. Want to learn some songs on the guitar. Thanks Gordon, Love You, RIP. Thanks for this presentation.

He seemed genuinely surprised by my polite boldness and he suggested I watch the PBS special on the Edmund Fitzgerald. Interviewer talks too much and drags out his "questions" - which disrupted the interview. Guys like that need to ask one quick, simple question - and then shut up! This is about Gordon. Not some unknown interviewer. Look at me everyone! Look at me!!!! Screw that. And it's rude.

Y'know, it's one year later, and your comment still upsets me. You need to understand that CANADA FILES is a show about Canadians, for a predominantly American audience... many of whom wouldn't know the guest, or (in this case) much about him. So my questions needed to provide some sense of context and history for the viewers. I don't know how (or why) you would claim that I'm trying to hog the limelight. Fortunately, many other commenters have said it was a great interview, and I appreciate it.
