This is not related to Canada, back in 2015 I wrote ielts 3 times and lost .5 points in listening then luckily PTE was allowed for Australia, gave it and got an equivalent score of IELTS 8. Anyone reading PTE is better, quicker results and can be easy scheduled. And finally, in PTE there are no humans judging 😂

We have felt the same. Lots of friends with good proficiency in english had to repeat test multiple times and everytime they lost 0.5 marks less than the required bands for speaking or writing.

Starting in May, NSCN waived NNAS requirement for Indian nurses. Once accepted, they will notify you to do NCLEX exam for licensure. Please note that NSCN deals with nursing licensure, not immigration. With license, you will need to find a nursing job in a Nova Scotia hospital and get a work permit.

The first step is go through NNAS (National Nursing Assessment Services) which can take 1 to 3.5 years. Then you can apply to a provincial nursing governing body such as CNO (College of Nurses of Ontario) and NSCN (Nova Scotia College of Nursing). Once accepted, you have to study and pass NCLEX exam. NNAS is located in Philadelphia and is servicing both USA and Canada. Some provinces are accepting other agencies for evaluation. Some are accepting WES (World Education Services), CES (Credentials Evaluation Services), ICES (International Credential Evaluation Services), ICAS (International Credential Assessment Service of Canada). Starting in May, NSCN waived NNAS requirement for Indian nurses. Please note that these provincial bodies deal with nursing licensure, not immigration. Some are giving oversea nurses 9 month temporary licenses. With nursing license, they can look for work in Canadian hospitals. With job offer, they can apply for work permit.

IRCC will start category-based Express Entry draws in 2023 based on occupation. Nurse is one of 35 prioritized Health occupations by IRCC. Supposedly, you need only 6 months Canadian experience or aboard experience to qualify, instead of 1 year.

IRCC has announced that they would be accepting PTE (PTE Core) for PR programs. But they have not announced the exact date as to when they would start to accept PTE for immigration purposes. Later part of 2023 ennu maathramae ippol ariyichittullu. However for student visas they have given an exact date: Aug 10th onwards PTE would be accepted. As soon as there is an official update on when exactly they would start to accept PTE this year, for PR programs, we will share as an update in our channel :-)
