The truth is, if I tried to shutdown a bridge in your town for three days, I would go to jail for obstructing the normal flow of business. The truth is lidar ground surveys showed shallow depressions in the ground and what meager attempts at excavation showed nothing. Some people say Canadian History: WW2, Halifax Explosion, Etc. Yes that is Canadian history and it is still very important but Truth and Reconciliation is real Canadian history. Reality check. It was the Catholic Church that should be paying for “reconciliation”. And the indigenous people themselves should stop looking inward and pretending that living in insular communities is a solution. As far as I see , celebrating any of these old superstitions is the problem. Either you want to move forward as a human being or live in the past.

It is disappointing that the government in Alberta has not designated this day as a statutory holiday. Why should it be treated like any other day? In British Columbia, it is recognized as a statutory holiday, acknowledging the significant suffering endured by Indigenous peoples in Alberta. This day deserves the same recognition and respect.
