They get 55% of pay paid by taxpayers (EI) and strike for free. Weren’t using taxpayer money before but now they are and job is guaranteed upon return. Meanwhile ton of management not on strike keeps using up savings and none of them got laid off ??? These are the geniuses running the company and holding everyone hostage.

This can't be how we do this again in another 4 years.. if there even is a contract that comes out of this. I am withdrawing my business from CPC until the union can figure out how to strike in an ethical way that respects other Canadians as human beings who also matter, and whose property should never be trapped so CUPW can use it as leverage. _"Strikes are SUPPOSED to hurt"_ , they say. Yeah, great job making everyone hurt. We sure are really impressed! Figure out how to strike ETHICALLY or never get my business back so long as I draw breath. I never want to perpetuate this nonsense -- CUPW must reconsider its ideas about striking and leverage. As a customer, I also have some leverage of my own. You will see.

CUPW isn't paying members their strike pay?
@vonkruel
@vonkruel 2 сағат бұрын
They do pay members who walk the lines, but there's a limited "war chest" (which is actually just the member's own $), so in effect workers are living off their own savings when they strike (and walk the picket lines). I really think workers would be better off w/o CUPW, but w/e they want...

"You're Fired!!" I honestly am looking forward to most of these workers losing their jobs...keep the sane ones that actually like to work which is probally 1 in 10 The Union is leading this death march filling up the workers with false promise that Canada Post legitimately cannot afford Ungrateful entitled and completely deluded ...they make more money with benefits than most of the other Canadians in the same positions.... Victims? 😢... onlyof their Union and lack of reason they purposely create havoc in an attempt to extort their demands using their customers as pawns.... They will do this every 4 years remember that

Well we can thank the haper government for this disaster. harper appointed his minion who quickly diverted the profit to its private company (Purolator) leaving CP with all the costs and none of the profits. And now what do we hear? CP should be dismantled it is costing too much money! Typical capitalist's right-winger tactic: Dismantle a crown corporation make it dysfunctional and then sell it for peanuts to the private industry.

Government services are NOT supposed to make a profit. That's why they are call services!
@Infernal_Puppet
@Infernal_Puppet 7 сағат бұрын
@@ronstephen72 Canada Post is expected to be profitable because it is not run by the government. It's a Crown Corporation but does not directly take funds from the government to operate. Canada Post was given a monopoly on letter delivery with the mandate that they serve all Canadians. That used to work, but the mandate is a liability now because letter delivery isn't profitable on it's own anymore but they still need to eat the costs of servicing all of the country, and they aren't competitive with smaller delivery companies that don't have this mandate.

Wouldn’t the postal workers make more on EI then on strike pay? I’m guessing they get some type of money for striking? Weird that EI is hard to get if you quit or get fired etc. etc. You strike and then get laid off and can get EI no problem 😂
