The song "Bungong Jeumpa" is a folk song from the Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. This song originates from the Jeumpa kingdom which was founded in the 7th century AD, and was composed by Ibrahim Abduh who was written in the Hikayat Radja Jeumpa. Bungong Jeumpa in Indonesian means Cempaka flower (Magnolia Champaca), which for the people of Aceh symbolizes purity, a symbol of the spirit and beauty of Tanah Rencong (the name for the city of Aceh). This song tells about the beauty of the Cempaka flower which has a combination of white and ivory yellow. Usually this song is accompanied by traditional musical instruments which makes it even more melodious to sing.
