I'm disappointed Canada cannot make a firm commitment to recognize Palestine as a State. What does Freeland mean when she says Canada calles for a 'two state solution'. Doesn't it follow that we should recognize Palestine as one of those two States, the other one obviously being Israel which was granted statehood in 1948. At the time there were 650,000 Jewish inhabitants as opposed to 1,200,000 Arabs living in the territory which was held under British Mandate. Now how does that make sense? It's time to right a historical wrong that has caused great violence and hardship.
