Just realized Canada must not have sweet potato pie which is common here in the US. Ube is the same as sweet potato but with different subtle flavor. Also no nutmeg, cinnamon or other spices are added on ube pies which they do with sweet potato pies. The concept of a root vegetable as a pie filling is not new. The mind just makes you think it is weird or different when you are predisposed to think so.
