I wondered what you thought of the trolling. Its why we love him so much, he is a strong leader but also has a great , human, sense of humor .

Trump was definely joking for sure about make Canada a part of the US. I definitely believe my great grandparents left Quebec due to it not being as free as they liked and came to the US.
@HerHomesteadSkills22 күн бұрын
your great grandparents were absolutely right about the lack of freedoms in Canada vs the USA.

I love Calgary, Alberta Province and Victoria island, British Columbia. 30+ years ago, we lived in Barrie, Ontario and traveled as far north as Moosanee. Spelled wrong. I love Nova Scotia and being from Maine we used to take the Blue Nose ferry yearly to Canada. Now I’m deeply ensconced in the Smokies of WNC and it’s home. If I was younger I’d love to be back north but no longer could stand the long winters. However late November into now it has been frigid here and hopefully our mean temps rise by Monday as hundreds of families are living in tents, compliments of this corrupt government who would rather send out tax dollars to Eastern Europe and now Africa.?

Hi Toni - biscotti for Christmas family get together is a wonderful idea. It isn’t just AB that has talked about leaving Canada - MB and SK have also made the consideration - mainly because the gov’t has been trying to strip resources from these provinces and use them as benefits for the eastern areas - it felt like we were being sucked dry. And a small amount of consideration was given to putting up a border between ON and MB - then forming our own western govt.
@HerHomesteadSkills22 күн бұрын
Yes, that's right, and you all WERE being sucked dry...those transfer payments do nothing for the prairie provinces

I always enjoy your political point of views you are always spot on imo. I have told my hubby for years if I ever leave the USA, I would for sure make Canada my home. I have never been there but always have dreamed of going, I watch a lot of YT videos of Canadians and I love the places they show it's just beautiful and the people all seem very kind. Thank you for your channel I surely enjoy it.

Toni, I'm glad you understand President Trump's "rumor". Of course when it comes to Canada, I don't believe there will ever be tariffs. Trudeau did the right thing by responding immediately. It will be beneficial for Canada to improve border security too. I'm going to write down your biscotti recipe. I've never made them, but I'm thinking about trying them out this year. Thanks! 😊
@HerHomesteadSkills22 күн бұрын
Trudeau had no choice..the border is a mess, we have not kept up with our commitment to NATO, and any other number of issues that need to be addressed, but I suspect the threat of tariffs is one way to illicit cooperation.

Shipping is a killer here in the US. Mailing anything cost more than the item is worth..Mail order is dead.

looks like we are in the same boat there!
@davidlang444222 күн бұрын
@HerHomesteadSkills Sure are. I have a Etsy shop where I tried selling hand made items from my woodworking business nationally. That ended fast as shipping was too high to sell inexpensive items like around 20 buck or so where most buyers are. You see it on TV where lots of items are hocked for $19.99 or 4 easy payments of $19.99..Even "Etsy selling" was to high. That's where using Etsy labeling should get up to 30% off shipping. I still have my Etsy shop but nothing sells there as Etsy's algorithm favors high volume sellers of stuff imported from countries like China and pushes low volume sellers like me to the bottom of the barrel where I get no traffic. Etsy used to be a site for sellers like me with handmade items to sell but not anymore. See lots of factory made stuff on there these days. Got that off my chest!

Quebec wanted to become it's own country. If that happened then the Maritime Provinces were going to join the US at that time. Quebec got some concessions to stay in the union. one was becoming a bilingual national language. French and English on everything.
@HerHomesteadSkills22 күн бұрын
of course they got concessions!
@davidlang444222 күн бұрын
@@HerHomesteadSkills In time, they will be back with more threats for more concessions. I lived in Maine that borders Quebec. Most of southern Maine is overrun in the summer with people from Quebec especially the beaches. All you hear walking Maine's southern beaches is French speaking folks. I am sure they are nice folks but they come in and run all the concession stands and everything else and they don't treat you very well at their businesses if you speak only English. .In our high Schools everyone has to take French classes it's so prevailing there. Heck, I even married a French gal from Edmonston . She wouldn't teach me French though. But that's another story.
@HerHomesteadSkills17 күн бұрын
they don't treat people from the rest of Canada any better if you don't speak french...but their food is awesome!
