Oh my thank you for this.i was going thru some pennies and found a Canadian one with the little maple leaf after the date..it is a 1947.i have a few other '47s but without one.so I was confused.i collect u.s.pennies and don't know much about the Canadian penny.maybe I should get educated some more.i usually just throw them in a jar.i have a huge jar of them and never really knew what to do with them.thank you.

I have a georgivis VI with a very obvious horizontal die crack that cuts right through the top of his head and pretty much is from one end of the coin to the other. I would have to dig it out to find the date because I do not remember off hand. But does anyone know if that's a good error? It sure looks neat. Kinda like Frankenstein LOL like his head is going to open and his brain be replaced or something. I have no idea even how Canadian cents are minted. For all I know they use a completely different process than US mints. I know I see a lot of strangeness on newer clad Canadian coins that gives the impression that they perhaps do not have the same process. Anyone know the best website for me to use to gain some knowledge of Canadian coins?

I found out about the 1947 maple leaf penny a few months ago. It was after I found one in a coin roll. Looks like I need to double check it for the blunted 7.

Does anyone have any information on the cents marked- 1867-1967 and 1867-1992? Can't find them listed.
@worldnumismaticnews5 жыл бұрын
1867 was the year of Canadian Confederation, so the 1967 penny celebrates the 100th anniversary and the 1992 the 125th anniversary. Thanx for watching

Can you please answer my question? I have the exact penny with a blunt 7 (I think) but it doesn't have the tiny maple leaf next to the 1947. How much is that worth?
@larrykirtley16784 жыл бұрын
That means its an actual 1947 penny not a 1948 reprint. Watch the video again hr explains that. I missed it the first time aswell

I have a 1940,43,2-44s,50,51,62,63,65,66,70,75,81, and a 1987. Two things. Where are the mint marks? And do I have anything worth selling? thanks again Jason Wilson.
@worldnumismaticnews6 жыл бұрын
There are no mint marks for these. The Royal Canadian Mint only uses a single location so there is no need for mint marks. The only Mint Marks that you will find are on older, 19th centy type coins where you will see an "H" for the Heaton mint and a "C" for Ottawa and so forth.
