What an awesome project to be a part of! I’m disabled now, a heavy equipment operator and truck driver by trade, but I pushed dirt crews as a superintendent too. What a sense of accomplishment, I never thought I’d be sitting at home watching stuff like this. You don’t realize what being productive and needed means until you’re no longer there! Be safe boys, I’d rather be making money and running crews again!

I made this film single-handed in the year 2000. The complete project is over 50 minutes long. In a film making career that spanned over 30 years world wide, this project was among the most fun.

@peterMeLennan Great work Peter. I hope you don't mind that I shared it? I was working in Calgary in 2013 with an Pipeline Engineering Firm when I was handed a few DVDs and I was asked if I could find a way to share them. They've proved to be very popular on KZbin, the view count has exceeded my expectations. I initially only uploaded the videos to KZbin so that people in the office could watch them.

Really good video. I knew a lot went into building a pipeline. It gives you a real appreciation for the people building it.

110 backhoes? yeah I dont think so, they were straight up excavators or trackhoes. Not backhoes. Backhoe has rubber tires, a front loader bucket, and is not even close to the same! I bet they had a few backhoes on site back then, but they would have been the old four stick Case models, etc.

One day when I get keen enough, I'll post the rest of it here. Picture quality sure suffers from the upload to KZbin. That and the fact that it was shot nearly 20 years ago.
