So, you're Canadian, you speak English, and you learn Norwegian, you're proud of your achievements and rewards yourself with a trip to Norway. Well, be ready for a surprise, because as you travel through Norway you'll soon find that what you learned and how we talk can be very very different from each other. But don't let this put you off, if you tell people that you're a foreigner most people can easily switch from dialect to something resembling for example bokmål, which is our written language, which can make life easier for foreigners learning Norwegian. Most of us also speak English well enough, but do try Norwegian first ;)

I have a Tesla M3 2019, and I still have my Gen1 2013 Nissan Leaf, and while range is somewhat reduced during winter, I have no issues with winter and snow. Like, how often do you have to drive more than 300km without having time for a little rest stop? And as for the Leaf, it's my to and from work car, 45km a day, no problems what so ever.

As for the education, this is a little inaccurate. The first 7+3 years of school she mentioned are all considered Grunnskole, so 10 years of elementary school. Everyone is not only entitled to attend to an elementary education, you are required. In short, it's illegal for parents to withhold this education from children. Then there are typically three years of Videregående, which is comparable to High School, but depending on which educational direction you choose this can be three years leading to Generell Studiekompetanse which is comparable to Higher Education Entrance Qualification, or two years of education plus one year of work practice for jobs that do not require higher education, for example some health related jobs, mechanics etc. Or there can be four year specialty directions which also includes work practice but also gives you Higher Education Entrance Qualification. It's also worth noting that those completing two years + work practice education can choose to take another year to also get Higher Education Entrance Qualification. Everyone also has a right to attend to High School, but you might not get the direction you want as this is based on the grades from elementary school. However, in most cases this is not an issue. Then people can apply to either college or university. Attendance is determined by your grades from High School. This education is free for all students.

No, beauty is most certainly an objective measure. In fact, we don't even rely on what people say they think is beautiful. Probes on the brain measure the truth. The only uncertainty has to do with finding a representative group to measure. We have done this so many times now and we are as close to the absolute truth it is possible to come. The girl in the video rates a 7 on a 1-to-10 scale, with an equal distribution of people across each rating.

In norway you have 5 weeks mandatory vecation. Most people have 3-4 weeks off in midle of july. And alot of people leave norway and go 2-3 weeks on vecation to spain or other countries. So alot shuts down in thoose weeks,

Just a cabin. Not in the woods. I would suppose that's most normal for people in the north and east. West and south we have cabins with the sea and coast mostly

I wonder how closely you are connected to your Icelandic heritage? If you speak Icelandic to any extent, you already speak a variant of the oldest known Norwegian dialect, Old Norse! If you (like other Icelandic kids) were made to learn written Danish in your youth, you're halfway there: Danish spoken with an Icelandic accent is a fairly passable spoken Norwegian Bokmål. Also, if you speak Icelandic, German will not be too hard because the grammar that makes German difficult for English-speakers is basically the same as in Icelandic.
