During the ceremony, the Military Orchestra from Żagań performed the national anthems of Poland and the Netherlands. The Mayor of Breda reminded attendees that exactly 80 years ago, Breda was liberated by the 1st Armored Division under the command of General Maczek. "We owe our freedom to him and many Polish soldiers."
