Canadian smocking,Beautiful fabric manipulation technique.

Music used under KZbin creative common rights.
This is an easy to create smocking pattern comparing to other patterns. If you are trying to make a cushion cover with this design the standard cushion size is16/16".If the squares in a pattern are 1.5/1.5" your grid will be 24/24" in length and width.it will be 16 raws and 16 collumns .plus allowance of 5 inches side. TOTAL OF 34INCHES/34INCHES FABRIC .

Hello again Jesy, just going to start the leaves pattern now, the ring pillow turned out beautifully and just finished the smaller wedding pillow, all my copies are 1" squares as I want to make cushion covers of 16", I am hoping that it works for me. Do you do the stitching going across, horizontally first, then drop down to the next row and do the same, or do you do on at the top and then drop down to the first stitch in the second row? Does that make sense to you? I guess I can experiment and figure it out, just asking. By the way, I was surprised when you flipped it, how beautiful!! Thanks for the diagram.

It does not matter whichever direction you choose the target is to finish sewing all the diagonal lines.However if you go in an order by sewing the nearest lines ,you can be sure that will not miss any lines to be sewed.It is actually very easy .I tried it from Pinterest with only a diagram as an experiment. Beleive it or not it was a success .Use 1.5 inch squares.Thanks for watching.
