THAT is one hell of a great video! At 85 now and interested for 60 years in trains and 30 years in the RCAF, I remember all this extremely well and rode behind steam in the days. 10 out of 10

I was a kid, 10-12 years old living at 204 Gowan Ave. in Toronto. I clearly remember on cold winter nights hearing the steam whistle of the trains racing through the Don Valley. There were two roads where the whistles blew, one was Pottery road, and the other was east of there. It is a sound I will always remember.

Some excellent scenes of the Fraser Canyon, and the northern route through the Yellowhead pass in this. Great footage, thanks!

Is vinnie a Canadian engine or an American engine?

That is a good question because the Grand Trunk Western they also have some 4-8-4 streamlined trains the same has the ones from the Canadian National.

I think the action was in the East, not the Rockies
