The Canadian Brass is insanely good. I use the word insanely because playing the "Flight of the Bumblebee" in less than a minute while clowning around is clearly insane. "Good" doesn't begin to describe how well they play it. I've never seen anyone double team a tuba before. See, I told you they were insanely good.

I have seen them in concert (Toronto et environs) fairly often, and few acts anywhere match them for polished and absorbing entertainment. Their shows have no "low spots", but bristle with variety, humor, interest - and, of course, musical virtuosity. Moreover, they have an enviable and natural ability to engage the audience.

You are wonderful to watch. and to listen to, and you inspire me to keep practicing my Miraphone Bb tuba I have had for 50 years now, and have played, after a long hyatus of working for a living, after being retired 5 years ago, to bring out my old beloved tuba and so have played with the local Oroville Community Concert Band. No, it takes less time to press down but opening and closing the valves takes longer, with piston valves it goes as fast as your fingers do.

+Cardenal Collins yes you do make a very good point there. but in my personal experience rotary's take longer to open the valve fully as compared to a piston valve. Thus a fuller sound and clearer pitches which is a challenge for that piece played fast
