Thanksgiving (Action de Grâce) is not really celebrated in French-speaking Quebec. You may encounter some family events here and there simply because it is a 3-day weekend. This tradition never caught here. Most see it as a time to go apple picking, or for the last barbecue of the season, or time to install the car shelter for winter.

I'm not sure if this guy is Canadian, but I'm kind of surprised that he differentiates between Canadians and "Americans" since technically, Canadians ARE Americans, just not members of the UNITED STATES of America. Mexicans are Americans, Brazilians, Columbians, Argentinians, Uruaguayans, etc...

It is about context. It is all about context. In the context of what he is talking about when he says Americans he is referring to the people of the United States. You know that, and I know that. So, you bringing this up is rather pointless, because we all know what he is talking about because of the context. Secondly, Canadians would never refer to themselves as Americans in any context, they would refer to themselves as Canadians.
