Canadians Find Amazing Cave Pools In Mindanao

Travelling Northern Mindanao really is no different than travelling anywhere else in the Philippines and I was so happy to have my two Canadian friends Jeremy and Taylor come visit me in Cagayan de Oro!
We spent one day just riding scooters along the coast to a place called Initao. There WE FOUND THE COOLEST CAVE POOLS ALONG THE COAST!!!
Unique Filipino Fruits, Cave Pools, Beaches, Delicious Foods...
This was just another beautiful day for Canadians in Mindanao!!!

My wife is a Filipina from El Salvadore, Philippines which is between Opol and the Laguindingan International Airport. The last place in this video is called Moog by the locals. I was there in 2008 and again in 2009 before construction of the new international airport was completed. Even then, although it is a small place off the beaten track, there were quite a few people who went there. Nice video.

The Chico is actually called a "sugar apple" or "sugar plum". The star-apple or kaimito comes in two varieties as you have already seen, the purple ones are called "tapol" by the locals (it's a common term for anything that's purple in variety like sticky rice), but a rare pinkish one is found in the mountains of Mindanao, we have some of it in our farm. 😊

ohh my God my paradise a lot fruits so sweet i missed our fruit kaimito tapul we call it in cebu, climing a kaimito tree when i was child thats in front in our nipa house 4 kaimito tree the green kaimito fruit have very shiny skin sparkling sunlight to the fruits, the milky sweety soft jelly meat of fruit kaimito star apple, Philippines many fruit trees like sambag tamarind, sinaguelas, tambis, nangka jackfuit, lomboy, lansonis and bayabas guava. I hope one day the store in Europe could have all these fruits I wished europe childrens can eat all fruits we had in Philippines.

awesome... Chico is my favorite. I use to grew up in a house with a backyard full of fruit trees. I would climb up the star apple, hangout at the roof top and eat the ripe ones.Happy childhood until my father sold our house. Glad you like the fruits

The Fruit is called Purple mangosteen it is sooooo good Just don't eat the seeds just the white fruity part inside. Also my wife say's the can be boiled into tea for super really good health benefits (It is a super Fruit). I need to Visit that area next time im in Mindanao visiting the in-laws.

Michael Locklear sir in the other part of the philippines we have mangosteen so I can differentiate whether that is star apple or mangosteen... Mangosteen is more smaller than star apple in size, mangosteen mostly seeds were edible part not it's skin, mangosteen have green cap-like to its top while the star apple doesn't have it...that are some that I know what's the difference between those two

It is hard to find Mangosteen in the US (vary expensive) and hard to find fresh. I wonder if we can get star apples here would love to have some.

Hmm...ok...if your country have semi-cold climate well you can plant mangosteen if tropical climate that is suitable for star apple...building a small greenhouse (4m x 8m x 6m[h]) will do to control the temperature in it...use grafted type of mangosteen and star apple so that it will not going to be tall... Grafted star apple and mangosteen can be bought online...In the Philippines there is one place I know that they can sell grafted fruits and vegetable. That is Los Banos, University of the Philippines...also known as UPLB...
