Looking good. I would suggest when trying to drill the hole put the drill in reverse to make the circle mark first then put it back to forward and drill. This will help stop the hole saw from traveling.

Awesome work! I’d say my two cents on your spacer/clamp/drink holder complication you asked for, would be to use a longer clamp going from leg to leg, lightly pinching the drink holder board between the legs. Tight enough where it won’t move around on you, and loose enough that you can gently tap it with a mallet to make fine adjustments until you’re ready to drive in the screws. I’m definitely going to try this! I’m thinking about adding a pop out “roof” above the drinks to keep bags from sliding off the back and knocking into drinks. Keep on trucking brother!
@JessedoesDIY5 ай бұрын
Thanks! I'm guessing I already spoke to you on Etsy at this point lol That's a great idea with the clamp. I haven't had anything slide into a drink yet, but I guess there is always a first time for everything. Will do man, you too!

I just done a set with cup holder and I kept the legs bolted to the boards and measured down an 1.5” on both sides of the leg and drew a line then line the board up on the line. Then I used a clamp the hold the board in between the legs. Not saying that’s easier but that’s how I did it. Nice job on the boards.

What size pocket hole screws did you use? I used 1 inch at the shortest setting on the Kreg and still managed to poke through.
@JessedoesDIY3 ай бұрын
I used 1" as well. Yeah, that can and has happened to me. I think Kreg pushed the depth a little too far sometimes. I've got into the habit of pulling my drill bit up slightly before tightening the collar down so it doesn't bury the screw as deep. Maybe 1/16-1/8"
@stavvy66282 ай бұрын
Any reason you made the bag storage different in the plans? Hoping the 7 inch gap still works since I’ve already built it following the plans.
@JessedoesDIY2 ай бұрын
I made the plans after the boards and sometimes I modify them if I've found a better or easier way after building it. That's all. The plans are improved versions all the time. Good luck on your boards

Very nice. Now do a vid on the "Hoosier" version from the Midwest with just 2x4's and plywood. kek. I luv the cornbag holder(mice ate out mine in the garage), but the placement of the beer holders is bad because of the bags falling over the end. How has that worked for you? I won a set from Keystone Light($205.00) and gave it to my kid which is similar to the one you made.
@stevenserna2680 Жыл бұрын
I didn’t even think about the bags hitting the drinks in the holders. Perhaps adding a brace higher up on the legs would prevent the bags from reaching the drinks, or at least hitting them with full force. Thanks for pointing that out!
@JessedoesDIY Жыл бұрын
Thanks. We'll I'm from Canada so that'll take a Google search because I have no idea what those are lol. Actually that's why the drink holder is tucked up nice and tight to it and not further out. Typically the bags go flying off the end and I haven't had an issue yet.
@thesouth404 ай бұрын
My one question is, is it regulation to route the edge of the center hole? Since that is critical to bags falling in the hole or not falling in the hole, I bet there is a ruling on that.
@JessedoesDIY3 ай бұрын
I couldn't find anything. But it even looked like some hole kits you can buy had softened edges so I did it. But it is a soft transition, not a big round over

Did you use painter tape or frog tape when staining?
@JessedoesDIY9 ай бұрын
Frog tape is painters tape, it's just branded is all. I just used basic ol scotch painters tape. I personally haven't been blown away by frog tape, especially given the price they charge. If you press regular painters tape down and into the project or a corner along the edge like you should normally, there basically is no difference, at least to me

Looks good but acl regulation frames I believe are made from 1x3 limber not 1x4s
@JessedoesDIY Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Regulation height is between 3.5"-4" to the top of the board when laying flat. The 1x4 is 3.5" tall and 1/2" plywood on top makes it a smidgen under 4". The whole board is regulation adult specs

I don't mean to be "that guy" but are you sure that's 1/2" plywood. Looks like 3/4". But if it is, do you find it's enough thickness? I've read 1/2" can have a bit of a bounce to it when you throw the bag
@JessedoesDIY7 ай бұрын
It's 100% 1/2". With the center braces I added there is no bounce at all, it's solid. I was worried about the same thing that's why I made the bag holder also support the top from below.
