Nah, I don't think so... Remember, there was an old lady in another season, I believe, and the host said he was giving her license back because he legally couldn't keep it... But that she was not passing rehab. Then he asked if she would continue to drive, and she said yes.... I did 2 tests back in 1979 when tests were relatively new in Ireland, being introduced for the first time in the mid 1960's. Proper driving lessons were not compulsory and it was considered OK to drive on your own on a Learners Permit. I am Autistic which makes social interactions, and acquiring physical skills slower than normal. This poor woman is overwhelmed by the road on which she finds herself and is on the verge of panic. Far from ideal in a learning or test situation. In my case I received my full licence when a moratorium was put on tests and holders of a second or subsequent learners permit were given an exemption from doing a driving test. Many nay-sayers at the time predicted mayhem and slaughter on the roads at that time but this did not happen. Ironically because I never did a test I am very cautious on the roads in the face of new rules or road layouts and do my best to keep up to date with the many requirements on the road. I have never had a crash in 45 years of driving. Many drivers my age do not keep current and have difficulties with rotaries and motorways. Many driving testers are cautious in giving a pass to young, especially male, drivers on their first test as it can make them cocky and overconfident and lead to a fatal crash. This lady needs a lot of one-on-one instruction and coaching far beyond the average learner.

In the 3 years of driving, I have had 2 tickets (both stricken from my record), 2 accidents (one my fault and the other wasn’t), and no speeding tickets. Btw, both tickets were given because of the accidents.

I drove in the US yesterday for 8 hrs and I LOVED IT! EVERY driver knew that the left lane was for passing. No matter how fast the car in the left lane went, when a car approached, the car in the front made way for it to pass. Left lane hogging seems to be a Canadian phenomenon.
