My mate and his partner have got a narrow boat and its moored in a Marina , and he sold his house and since getting the boat his health has improved ( they wanted him to take insulin for his diabetes since getting the boat , his diabetes has subsided.) He's walking more and he is happy. Hope your friend is as happy as my mate and enjoys his new adventure xx

Hi Kerry - that was so so interesting - so pleased for Jordan, what a life change. I have spent a couple of weeks on a narrowboat. Years ago had a free holiday to deliver a boat from Shropshire to Oxford. I’ll never forget how we got the boat stuck on a roof of a submerged car in Birmingham 😂 great memories. Thanks for this quick informative no messing about video. I have been looking at life on a canal boat recently. I live near the Grand Union Canal. I had my money card stolen from me which had the funds to start looking for a small boat so unfortunately this left me gutted and I had to stop my tracks toward the boat life. However this time next year, I believe with all the help of the different boaters out there I will be able to make a choice on which boat I am suited to. Thank you for your videos. Never been on one before but my parents went on a weeks holiday with another couple years ago, they went away best of friends and came back not speaking lol. It does sound an idyllic way of like but I was surprised to see so many of them them. Not that keen on the portopotty emptying every day but I suppose it is not totally perfect but dam near! You should look into composting toilets! As I am aware, these are a game changer for van life. I’m very jealous of this life style, I love fishing and of course nature. I do have a family but toy with the idea, maybe when I retire with my partner we would travel the rivers of England. Great in-sight, enjoy 👍🏼

I live on my 34 ft aquastar (13 ft wide) in a French coastal marina. €1,300 per year with unlimited electricity. It strikes me that uk waterways are a distinctly expensive option for living aboard.
