Hey I used your video to guide me change my rear disc pads. I really appreciate your video. Helped me save some money. I didn’t have to change the front since it was worn down just a bit. Only the side with the wear sensor in the rear was worn down. One pad, due to the spring piece breaking off. I had no errors after but I have to replace my wear sensor since it was broken.

I usually get codes out the wazoo doing front pads. Even in brake service mode. I've been told you have to do some MOJO with a code scanner but mine won't do it. It's only good up to 2018 and they haven't had any updates. The other one I just don't have regular access to. What I have found is that speed is limited to 43 mph then go 43 mph for a bit, safely, then park it for a bit. Around 5-10 min or so. When you start it back up the codes usually clear.

Wish i saw this video first but i changed my front pads based off another guys video. I did not put in service mode, or use old pads to depress the plungers. After i took off old pads i used flat head to attempt to depress the piston however when i pressed it in it leaked a few drops of fluid- i then put into service mode which fully extended the pistons and i cannot get them to depress now whatsoever. How do i fix this? Do i need new caliper? Thank you.

Great video other than the “C-clamp” part. Should you need to retract the piston , the C clamp method will not work with the 2019+ caliper design. They have a threaded piston so a spinning type clamp must be used. With that said, If put into service mode it isn’t necessary as the piston should retract close to 100%.
@RustBucketRepair9 ай бұрын
Service mode only retracts the parking brake. The pistons on this truck pushed in straight.
@ajsfree9 ай бұрын
Interesting. With my ‘20 Sierra at4, I had to grab a caliper threaded kit to screw the piston back in to allow enough space for pads. However, there is a possibility that this happens if the piston extends too far as I didn’t have an issue needing to retract as far when doing the opposite side.
