Canary Wharf for a day visitor: is a true joy of a different urban landscape, but don't mix between the touristic beauty of this district with the safety to live around this area. Once you leave the commercial buildings of Canary Wharf: you're literally in East London, with all its troubles, crimes, gangs, school bullying probs, etc, and particularly around that bit of East London, there are as well few housing states given by the local council to elderly with mental illnesses or criminal records, unfortunately these are right close to rental properties, so it's not really the safest neighborhood to live in.
