For people wondering why gear animations haven't been added. It's because the aircraft models aren't designed with gear animations in mind. When Orange12345 and Samisage had tested the feature, they quickly realized that the gears wouldn't correctly fit into the openings. Adding gear animations would require remodelling almost every aircraft. Which would take an extremely long time to do. -Written by PTC Bot

Probably it did not got added because it will take soo long to animate each one and to still make the game not too heavy to run at low end devices. It's still a shame it did not get added, but who knows? maybe it will eventually get added.
